(binhthuan.gov.vn) As directed by the
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the period of 2021 - 2025,
provinces and cities must build a pilot model to implement the OCOP Program. For
doing this, Binh Thuan province has built a pilot model to develop the OCOP
product value chain associated with local raw material areas, developing small
and medium-scale processing in the direction of a circular economy, organic
agriculture of Hoa Le Dragon Fruit Cooperative.
The goals of the model are to motivate
the members of the Cooperative to feel secure in production, and at the same
time to change the farming method from traditional production to the model of
circular production, organic agriculture; from which bringing a healthy living
environment, ensuring the health of growers and consumers. To increase the area
of dragon fruit growing under GlobalGAP standard, creating an input material
area to develop new products from dragon fruit, improving the value chain for
dragon fruit; to invest in modern machinery and equipment to create quality
products made from dragon fruit, increasing product value; to strengthen
promotional activities to introduce products processed from dragon fruit and
promote consumption.
The implementation of the model will
contribute to increase the area of GlobalGAP dragon fruit production in the
province and being a source of quality input material to process many valuable
products. Besides, the application of the circular agricultural production
model will reduce input costs and increase production efficiency; create stable
jobs for rural laborers and increase income. Creating a clean and healthy
production environment to ensure the health of farmers and safety for
consumers, changing production practices of cooperative members and the
community; at the same time, helping the cooperative to develop strongly with
suitable capacity, multi-sectors and services; being as a learning point for
other units, attracting more households to join the cooperative.
