More support policies for children in extremely difficult communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas

To implement the Government's Project on mobilizing social resources to support
children in extremely difficult communes in ethnic minority and mountainous
areas in the period of 2019 - 2025, the Provincial People's Committee has
directed the departments and agencies to speed up the propaganda and advocacy to
create favorable conditions for children in ethnic minority and mountainous
areas accessing information, knowledge and skills to develop and integrate with
children in lowland areas.
Accordingly, the
Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has directed the Child
Protection Fund to mobilize 67,500 boxes of vinamilk and 23,040 packs of
instant noodles to support children who are being raised at social protection
facilities in the province; at the same time, mobilized 4,000 notebooks to
support 200 disadvantaged students. The Department of Education and Training
has implemented the school milk program for children in 14 extremely difficult
communes of the province; the periodic health check for preschool children are
held once a year and their development is monitored using growth charts. Up to
now, the percentage of malnourished children has decreased compared to the
beginning of the school year 2020-2021.
It can be said that
the protection and care of children, especially children in ethnic minority and
mountainous areas, has always been concerned by the leaders of the Provincial Communist
Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee; thereby, helping
children in ethnic minority, remote and isolated areas and children in
difficult circumstances to enjoy the regimes and policies of the State...
gradually improving the quality of life for children, especially children in
remote, isolated and island areas.
