National online conference on COVID-19 prevention and control

the national online conference on COVID-19 prevention and control in the
morning of 16/7/2021, the Minister of Health - Nguyen Thanh Long commented:
“This wave of COVID-19 will last long with an increase in the number of
infected cases.”
Attending the conference at the bridge
of Binh Thuan Department of Health, there were the representatives of the
Department of Health and relevant departments and agencies.
In response to this outbreak, the
experts recommend to apply the 4 on spot principle, stratifying and classifying
treatment of COVID-19 patients according to the diagnostic guidelines and
allocating patients to suitable treatment facilities. In which, the
district-level hospitals will accept the asymptomatic and mild patients. The
moderate, severe and critical Patients will be transferred to the Provincial
General Hospitals, the Hospitals of Infectious Diseases and the District-level
General Hospitals with ICUs. In addition, localities must strengthen the
hospital system in their areas, there must have central oxygen systems,
ensuring oxygen breathing through the mass, HFNC systems for patients. It is
noted to arrange at least 50 ICU beds and be ready to expand, quickly set up
the central oxygen systems.
Regarding to COVID-19 vaccine, Vietnam
has successfully negotiated about 170 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from
various sources. Due to the global scarcity of vaccines, the limitation of
supply will continue until the end of 9/2021. First of all, the vaccine is
prioritized for provinces and cities that are experiencing epidemics,
localities that are the locomotives of socio-economic development to ensure the
achievement of both anti-epidemic and socio-economic development goals. . As
the vaccine arrives, the provinces and cities must immediately deploy the
injection plan in accordance with the Resolution 21, along with the local
decision on the subjects to be injected in accordance to the reality.
At the conference, the Minister of
Health - Nguyen Thanh Long emphasized: Despite many drastic measures for the
prevention and control of epidemic have been implemented in recent times, the
southern provinces are facing with complicated outbreaks of COVID-19. The
Minister asked the localities to evaluate and review the scenarios that have
been proposed, to prepare for a more complicated epidemic situation./.
