National Power Development Plan for the 2021 – 2030 period, with a vision to 2045

On April 15, 2022, the member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime
Minister Le Van Thanh chaired the online conference with localities on
finalizing the National Power Development Plan for the 2021 – 2030 period, with
a vision to 2045.
Attending the
conference at the bridge point of Binh Thuan province, there were Vice Chairman
of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phong and leaders of relevant
departments, agencies and units.

Concluding of the
Conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh said that this Power Development
Plan VIII has overcome some shortcomings of the Power Development Plan VII, revised
Power Development Plan VII and the Power Development Plan VIII submitted on
March 2021. Up to now, the basic calculation options have been optimized; the
total capacity of power sources expected to be developed by 2030 is about
146,000 MW, the maximum capacity is expected to be about 93,000 MW in 2030; By
2045, the whole system will only have 9.6% coal power, while wind power and
solar power will account for 50.7%, ensuring commitments on energy conversion
and environmental protection.
