1. COVID-19 situation in Vietnam:

a. From 18h, 22/5 to 06h, 23/5: 33 new cases (P5087-5119):

- 02 cases isolated immediately after entering at Dong Nai (1), Bac Ninh (1).

- 31 infected cases recorded domestically at Bac Ninh (29), Ninh Binh (2).

b. Counted to 02h, 23/5:

- Vietnam has totally 3.636 cases recorded domestically and 1.483 imported cases.

- Number of new cases from 27/4 to now: 2.066 cases.

- 5 provinces (Yen Bai, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Quang Ninh) have recorded no new cases in the past 14 days.

- Number of tested samples from 29/4 to now: 3.324.043 samples, equivalent to 4.398.533 turns of tested people.

2. Information on new cases:

a. 02 new cases isolated immediately after entering:

- CASE P5112 was isolated immediately after entering at Dong Nai: female, age 32, Vietnamese, address: Gia Lam, Hanoi.

On 07/5/2021, this patient from France entered via Tan Son Nhat Airport on flight VN10 and have been immediately quarantined after entering at Dong Nai province. The third test result on 21/5/2021 were positive to SAR-CoV-2. The patient is now isolated and treated at Dong Nai Lung Hospital.

- CASE P5119 was isolated immediately after entering at Bac Ninh: male, age 38, Korean expert. On 07/5/2021, this patient from Korea entered via Van Don Airport on flight OZ7747 and have been immediately quarantined after entering at Bac Ninh province. The second test result on 21/5/2021 were positive to SAR-CoV-2.

b. 31 cases recorded domestically:

- CASE P5087, recorded in Ninh Binh: female, age 37, address: Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh; F1 in a previous outbreak, isolated before.

- CASE P5088, recorded in Ninh Binh: female, age 53, address: Yen Khanh, Ninh Binh; F1 in a previous outbreak, isolated before.

Test results on 21/5/2021 were positive to SAR-CoV-2. These patients are now isolated and treated at Cau Yen General Clinics, Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh.

- CASES P5089-P5111, P5113-P5118, recorded in Bac Ninh: 19 F1 cases, 02 cases are employees at Quang Chau Industrial Zone; 08 cases in blockage zones. Test results on 21-22/5/2021 were positive to SAR-CoV-2.

3. Treatment situation:

- Number of cases negative to SARS-CoV-2:

+ 1st time: 56

+ 2nd time: 31

+ 3rd time: 31

- Number of deaths: 41.

- Number of cured cases: 2.721.

4. Number of people on quarantine: Total number of people having close contact and entry from the epidemic areas under medical monitoring (isolated): 179.006, of which:

- Centralized isolation at hospitals: 4.490

- Centralized isolation at other facilities: 36.815

- Isolation at homes, residences: 137.801.

5. Information on vaccination:

Additional 987 people were vaccinated for COVID-19 on 22/5/2021 in Tay Ninh.

As of 16h00 22/5/2021, total number of COVID-19 vaccines injected in phase 1 and 2 in provinces and cities is 1.027.659 doses, taken subjects: health workers and medical staffs directly treating COVID-19 patients, medical staffs performing tasks such as taking samples, testing, tracing, members of community COVID-19 teams, Steering Committees for epidemic prevention and control at all levels, police, military. In which, the number of people who have received 2 full doses of COVID-19 vaccine is 28.961.
