NEWSLETTER OF THE NATIONAL STEERING COMMITTEE FOR COVID-19 PREVENTION AND CONTROL

1. Number of infected cases in Vietnam:

- To 18h00 on 08/02: Vietnam has total 1160 COVID-19 cases infected domestically, including 467 new cases since 27/01.

- From 6h00 on 08/02 to 18h00 on 08/02: 45 new cases, including 0 case of entry being quarantined immediately.

2. Information on new cases: 45 new cases (P 2006 – P 2050) are domestic infected cases in Quang Ninh (3), Hanoi (3), Gia Lai (2), Ho Chi Minh (25), Hai Duong (12). Particularly:

- Case 2006 (P 2006): male, age 7, address: Dong Trieu, Quang Ninh. The patient is child and has close contact with P 1727, isolated from 29/01/2021. The second test result on 07/02/2021 was positive to SARS-CoV-2. The patient is now isolated, treated at Vietnam Switzerland Uong Bi Hospital.

- Case 2007 (P 2007): female, age 43, address: Dong Trieu, Quang Ninh. The patient is employee of Poyun Ltd., isolated from 30/01/2021. The second test result on 07/02/2021 was positive to SARS-CoV-2. The patient is now isolated, treated at Vietnam Switzerland Uong Bi Hospital;

- Case 2008 (BN2008): male, age 5, address: Ha Long, Quang Ninh. The patient is child and has close contact with P 1553, isolated from 27/01/2021. The patient is now isolated, treated at Number 2 Quang Ninh Hospital.

- Case 2009 (BN2009): female, age 28, address; Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi. The patient has close contact with P 1722, on 05/02/2021, she show signs of fever, cough, sore throat. Sample was taken on 06/02/2021, result on 07/02/2021 was positive to SARS-CoV-2. The patient is now isolated, treated at National Hospital for Tropical Diseases – Dong Anh branch.

- Case 2010 (P 2010): female, age 50, address Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi. The patient has close contact to P 2009.

- Case 2011 (P2011): female, 10 months old, address: Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi. The patient is child of P 2009.

Test results of P 2010 – 2011 on 08/02/2021 are positive to SARS-CoV-2. The patients are now isolated, treated at National Hospital for Tropical Diseases – Dong Anh branch.

- Case 2012 (P 2012): male, age 33, Ia Pa, Gia Lai. The patient has close contact with P 1952, P 1982. The patients are now isolated, treated at Ayunpa Medical Center, Gia Lai.

- Case 2013 (P 2013): female, age 32, Kong Chro, Gia Lai. The patient has close contact with P 1952, P 1982. The patients are now isolated, treated at Ayunpa Medical Center, Gia Lai.

- Cases 2014 – 2038 (P 2014 – 2038) recorded at Ho Chi Minh City are those having close contacts with the patients infected at Tan Son Nhat Airport (the information on epidemiology are under investigation further).

- Cases 2039 – 2050 (P 2039 – 2050) recorded at Hai Duong are those patients in the blockade area at Cam Giang, Kim Thanh, Chi Linh (the information on epidemiology are under investigation further)

These above patients are loading staffs at Tan Son Nhat Airport, working in a team with P 1979, and communicating with each other, with out contact with passengers. Currently, being under extensive investigation. These 04 patients are now isolated and treated at Cu Chi field hospital.

3. Number of people on quarantine: Total number of people having close contact and entry from the epidemic areas under medical monitoring (isolated): 89.728 of which:
