Number of severe dengue cases to increase, people should not be subjective

to now, the province has recorded more than 550 cases of dengue fever in 9/10
localities, except Phu Quy district. Despite of decreasing by more than 20%
compared to the same period last year, it increased rapidly compared to the
previous months, notably the number of severe dengue cases increased by nearly
39% over the same period.
According to the
health sector, the number of severe cases increased in 5 districts, namely Tuy
Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Thuan Nam and Duc Linh; especially in Tuy
Phong and Duc Linh.
To be proactive in dengue
fever prevention, the Department of Health of Bình Thuan has directed medical
facilities in the province to well organize the collection and treatment of
patients, prepare plans for treatment division and support lower levels to
avoid overcrowding of patients, and minimize the number of deaths due to dengue
fever.
The Department also
recommends that high fever in young children is a common symptom of many
diseases, so parents should not too be subjective to take self-treatment at
home. Whenever a child has a high fever for 2 to 3 days continuously, parents
should take the child to a medical facility for early and promptly examination,
diagnosis, and treatment of Dengue fever.
