Opening of the National Beach Handball Championship in 2020

(binhthuan.gov.vn) In the afternoon of June 09, the opening ceremony of
the National Beach Handball Championship in 2020 took place at Doi Duong Park,
Phan Thiet City. Attending the ceremony, there were Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa - Vice
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Ngo Minh Chinh - Director of
Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Hung Quan - Vice Chairman
of Vietnam Handball Federation; and representatives of departments, agencies,
units and many people and tourists inside and outside the province.
This activity was
organized by Vietnam Handball Federation in cooperation with the Department of
Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan Province. This year, the tournament
gathered the participation of more than 100 athletes from 5 men's teams and 5
women's teams of provinces and cities across the country. Specifically, the men’s
teams included: Hanoi, HCM City, District 10 - Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and
host team - Binh Thuan; Women's teams included: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City,
District 10 - Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Dinh and host team - Binh Thuan. According
to the competition format, teams in the same group will compete in the
round-robin format. Four highest-scoring teams will enter the semi-finals.
After the semi-final, the two highest scoring teams will enter the final,
winning the championship.
It is known that, the
National Beach Handball Championship in 2020 is part of the national tournament
system. The tournament aims to expand and improve the quality of handball
movement and competition across the country. After the tournament, the
Organizing Committee will recruit new and excellent athletes to add to the
national handball team to prepare for international tournaments and gradually
improve the management and organization skills of the specialized staff in a
more professional manner to prepare for organizing the international
competitions in Vietnam in the near future.
After the opening
ceremony, the delegates and fans witnessed the exciting competition between the
Hanoi women's team and the Binh Dinh women's team.
The National Beach
Handball Championship 2020 will end on June 13.
