Opening the 10th session of the 10th Provincial People’s Council

On the morning of July 20, the 10th Provincial People’s Council,
tenure 2016 – 2020, organizes the opening of the 10th session. This
is an important meeting to evaluate the socio-economic situation of the
province in the first 6 months of the year, and setting goals, solutions for
the remaining 6 months of 2020. The Secretary of the Provincial Party
Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council – Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung
chairs the meeting.
According
to the agenda, the 10th Provincial People's Council’s 10th
session will take place in 3 days (from 20 to 22 July, 2020). The main contents
of the meeting focused on discussing the socio-economic situation in the first
6 months of the year, tasks and orientations for the remaining 6 months of
2020. The Provincial People's Council will also discuss and give decision to 17
important resolutions on socio-economic development fields of the province and
activities of the Provincial People's Council. Notably, at this session, there
will be questioning activities with many topics of interest to voters and answered
by a number of relevant departments and agencies at the questioning session.
Giving
his opening remarks, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman
of the Provincial People's Council – Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung said, in the first 6
months of 2020, in the context of many difficulties and challenges, especially
the Covid-19 pandemic and the prolonged drought ... seriously affected the
economic, cultural and social development of the province and the life of the
people. However, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial
People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee, and the synchronous and
timely participation of the entire political system, the economy, society,
national defense and security in the first 6 months of 2020 have overcome
difficulties and showed some developments. The Chairman of the Provincial
People's Council emphasized that the 10th session will approve many
important Resolutions which greatly affect the achievement of the goals and
tasks of 2020, making an important contribution to implement successfully the 5
years (2016 - 2020) socio-economic development plan of the province. The
Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requesed the delegates to raise their
sense of responsibilities, devote time to research, contribute quality comments
to the contents of the meeting, to meet the expectations of voters and the
people of the province.
After
the opening remarks of the session, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the
Provincial People’s Committee – Mr. Luong Van Hai reported briefly the
socio-economic situation in the first 6 months, and the orientations, tasks for
the remmaining 6 months of 2020.
