Overcoming consequences caused by natural disasters in Ham Tan district

(binhthuan.gov.vn) On the afternoon of June 4, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue made a quick report on the situation of local tornadoes in Ham Tan district, causing 2 injuries and damage to many people's properties.

Accordingly, at about 3:30 pm on June 2, heavy rain occurred in Ham Tan district, accompanied by local cyclonic winds, gusts with relatively strong and fast intensity, the influenced area was in quarters 2 and 4, Tan Nghia town, damaging houses, properties, low voltage poles and crops of people in Tan Nghia town.

 

As a result, the tornado injured 2 people and damaged 7 houses with an area of 780 m2. In addition, the tornado toppled some power poles and damaged electrical wires on Road 6, Quarter 4, Tan Nghia town. Regarding agriculture, the tornado toppled 25 jackfruit trees (4 years old) and 200 acacia trees (7 years old). The total value of damage caused by tornadoes is over 835 million VND.

 

After damage is recorded, the People's Committee of Ham Tan district and related units has quickly supported the consequences; at the same time, made visits to encourage and support households whose roofs have been blown off and families with injured people. Checking the actual status, specifically reviewing damaged items to summarize and report to the District People's Committee.

 

The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue has requested the People's Committee of Ham Tan district to direct the People's Committees of communes and townships to propagate and strictly implement Official Dispatch No. 63 dated March 27, 2023 of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue on the proactive implementation of response plans, handling situations on prevention of thunderstorms, local tornadoes, lightning and hail at the time of season change in Binh Thuan province 2023.
