(binhthuan.gov.vn) In order to ensure sufficient and stable electricity supply to meet the electricity needs for production, business and daily life of the people in the province, the Department of Industry and Trade has requested departments, agencies, units and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to strengthen guidance on implementing measures to use electricity economically and effectively, especially during the hottest months of 2024.

In order to save electricity, agencies and offices must develop and organize the implementation of electricity saving plans for their units, ensuring to save 5% of total electricity consumption during the year. Develop, promulgate and organize the effective implementation of rules on electricity saving, regulations on use, maintenance and repair of electricity consuming equipment at agencies and units. Disseminate and thoroughly grasp the implementation of electricity saving to all workers, include electricity saving into the criteria for assessing the level of task completion and annual emulation and rewards. Mobilize resources to install and use rooftop solar power systems and solar water heating systems to reduce electricity consumption from the National electricity system. Issue a list of energy-saving vehicles and equipment to be equipped and purchased for agencies and units using the state budget.

Organizations and individuals managing and operating public lighting systems, lighting systems for advertising and outdoor decoration purposes shall preside over and coordinate with local Electricity to develop and organize the implementation of saving electricity plans, ensuring a minimum saving of 30% of total electricity consumption in the period 2023 - 2025. Apply management solutions, regulations and technical standards for public lighting; replace decorative lights, lighting, and advertising lights with energy-saving lights; apply automatic control technology in public lighting, lighting for advertising purposes, and outdoor decoration. Promote the application of solar energy solutions for advertising, decoration, and public lighting purposes.

Restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, and apartment buildings shall turn off or reduce at least 50% of outdoor decorative advertising lighting capacity during evening peak hours as requested by the local Electricity; comply with regulations on economical and efficient lighting, be ready to cut off or reduce electricity demand upon notification from the local Electricity in case of power shortage; coordinate with local Electricity to carry out appropriate propaganda programs on the economical use of electricity in the summer months, programs, competitions, and launches on electricity saving in urban areas and apartment building, shopping centers.

Households in the province must use electricity economically and effectively, such as turning off electrical equipment when leaving the room, completely cutting off the power source if not using electrical equipment; encourage the use of air conditioning at appropriate temperatures (from 26⁰C or higher). Encourage the installation and use of rooftop solar power systems for on-site use according to regulations, solar water heating systems.

Commercial and service businesses in the province shall limit the use of high-capacity equipment that consumes high power during peak hours. Develop and organize the implementation of internal regulations on economical, safe and effective use of electricity at business and service establishments. Be ready to cut off or reduce electricity demand upon notification from the local Electricity in case of power shortage. Encourage the use of high-performance electrical equipment, electrical equipment with high energy efficiency labels, use of on-site energy sources with renewable energy sources according to regulations, electrical equipment that uses renewable energy.

Manufacturing enterprises must voluntarily implement solutions to save energy, electricity, install rooftop solar power according to regulations and implement solutions to use energy economically and effectively. Encourage the development of a program to mobilize backup power generation systems in case of power shortages. Develop and implement solutions to use electricity economically and effectively. Install and integrate renewable energy sources into the internal energy system according to regulations.
