People should not drive cars and motorbikes in the opposite direction on highways

According to the Department of Transport, after the North-South expressway
project, the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay section was inaugurated and put into
operation on April 29, 2023. The exploitation process so far, on the Phan Thiet
- Dau Giay highway, the section through Binh Thuan province has occurred a
situation of many vehicles, motorcycles run in the opposite direction on
highways; the situation of young people gathering on overpasses throwing stones
on the highway, damaging the windshields of vehicles traveling on the route,
the above acts cause traffic insecurity, endanger life and property of road
users, should be handled and prevented in time.
Therefore, the
Department of Transport has requested the Provincial People's Committee to
direct the People's Committees of Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Thuan
Nam and Ham Tan districts to strengthen propaganda and dissemination to people not
to drive cars and motorbikes in the opposite direction into Phan Thiet - Dau
Giay highway and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway (expected to be inaugurated on
May 19, 2023). At the same time, the behavior of pedestrians, rudimentary
vehicles, mopeds, motorbikes, tractors, and special-use motorcycles with a
design speed of less than 70 km/h is strictly prohibited from circulating on
highways.
Directing the
police force to increase patrol and control to prevent pedestrians, rudimentary
vehicles, mopeds, motorbikes and tractors, special-use motorcycles with a
design speed less than 70 km/h entering the expressway; do not allow cars or
motorbikes to run in the opposite direction on highways. In addition, handling
and preventing the situation of teenagers gathering on overpasses throwing
stones at vehicles traveling on highways.
