Petrol and food prices pulled CPI in March down 0.15%

 

(binhthuan.gov.vn) Food prices fell due to abundant supply; the decrease in petrol and gas prices in line with world fuel prices was the main reason for the decrease in the consumer price index (CPI) in March 2023 by 0.15% compared to the previous month.

 

According to Binh Thuan Provincial Statistics Office, the CPI in March 2023 decreased by 0.15% compared to the previous month. However, compared to the same period last year, it increased by 3.91%. On average, in the first three months of 2023, CPI increased by 4.39% over the same period last year.

 

Statistics also showed that, compared to the previous month, in 11 main groups of consumer goods and services, 07 groups of goods decreased in price and 4 groups increased in price compared to the previous month.

 

Accordingly, in the decrease group, the index of beverage and tobacco products decreased by 1.58% due to the law of reducing consumption after the Lunar New Year; culture, entertainment and tourism reduced by 0.59%; garment, hats and footwear reduced by 0.47%; materials and household appliances decreased by 0.32%; food and catering services decreased by 0.22%; transport decreased by 0.19%; housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials decreased by 0.15%.

 

In the opposite direction, the education group increased by 1.06%; post and telecommunications increased by 0.88%; other goods and services increased by 0.73%; medicines and medical services increased by 0.03%./.
