Petrol prices make February CPI increase by 0.46%

 

(binhthuan.gov.vn) The increase in domestic gasoline and gas prices in line with world prices is one of the reasons why consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.46% in February 2023.

 

As counted by the Provincial Statistics Office, CPI in February 2023 increased by 0.46% over the previous month, 4.64% over the same period last year and 1.24% compared to December 2022. On average, in the first two months of 2023, the consumer price index increased by 4.63% over the same period last year.

 

Compared to the previous month, out of 11 main groups of consumer goods and services, there were 08 groups of increased prices and 03 groups of decreased prices.

 

Specifically, the transport group had the highest increase with 3.04%, which was caused by the influence of the price adjustments of gasoline and oil on February 13, 2023 and February 21, 2023.

 

Housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increased by 1.5% due to the increase in gas prices (from February 1, 2023, the domestic gas price was adjusted to increase 63,000 VND per bottle of 12kg after world gas price increased to 192.5 USD/ton; household appliances and equipment increased by 1.12%; other goods and services increased by 0.61%; garment, hats and footwear increased by 0.06% ; medicine and medical services by 0.05%; education by 0.05%; post and telecommunications by 0.03%.

 

There were 03 groups of reduced in prices: Food and catering services; culture, entertainment and tourism; Beverages and tobacco by 0.39%, 0.12%, and 0.05%, respectively./.
