Phan Thiet City People's Committee strengthens the work of handling homeless persons and beggars before, during and after the New Year and Lunar New Year 2023

the beggars are often on roads such as: Tran Hung Dao (in Duc Thang ward, Binh
Hung), Tam Bien junction (in Phu Thuy ward), Phan Thiet market area, in front
of the gate Ong Pagoda (in Duc Nghia ward); in front of the gate of the
Buddhist Temple; the area of Nguyen Du street (in Lac Dao ward); the night
restaurants along the embankment of Pham Van Dong, Ton Duc Thang, Hung Vuong
streets and tourist attractions in Ham Tien and Mui Ne wards.
In order to ensure
the security, order, and beauty in public places before, during and after the
New Year and the Lunar New Year 2023, the City People's Committee has requested
the People's Committees of wards and communes to strengthen the work on
handling homeless persons begging in the areas before, during and after the New
Year and the Lunar New Year 2023; to direct the interdisciplinary working groups
to regularly inspect and handle the situation of homeless persons and beggars
in the area under their management.
Accordingly, the People's
Committees of wards or communes must be responsible before the Chairman of the
City People's Committee for any situation of beggars that affecting the local
order and security without handling in time.
In addition, the City
People's Committee also requested the City Police to direct the Police of the
wards and communes to coordinate with the People's Committees of the wards and
communes, and the street protection forces in gathering street beggars before,
during and after the New Year and the Lunar New Year 2023; thoroughly handling
those who organize or incite others to beg for food; taking advantage of the
elderly and children to beg for food; mistreating and chasing the mentally ill,
the elderly, the disabled, and children out of their homes to the streets
begging for food. Coordinating with the Division of Labor - Invalids and Social
Affairs and the city's inter-sectoral working groups to organize inspections of
the status of homeless people and beggars before, during and after the New Year
and the Lunar New Year 2023.
