Can you tell us why the Department of Education and Training decided to arrange 01 exam site in Phu Quy island district this year?

In recent years, the Division of Education and Training of Phu Quy has proposed to the Department of Education and Training for allowing the organization of the high school graduation exam at the district to create favorable conditions for candidates to take the exam.

However, through the inspection and review, the facilities at schools in Phu Quy district in recent years have not been able to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training, the high school graduation exam is only allowed to be hold at qualified exam sites according to regulations in localities on the mainland.

With the supports of the People's Committee of Phu Quy district and the provincial Department of Education and Training, by April 2021, Ngo Quyen High School of Phu Quy island district has basically ensured the conditions of facilities and equipment to organize the event of high school graduation exam according to the regulations of Education and Training.

In addition, realizing that the transportation of exam papers by high-speed boats now only takes about 2.5 hours, along with the current fairly accurate weather forecast, the Department of Education and Training has boldly proposed the Provincial People's Committee to approve the organization of one more exam site for the 2021 high school graduation exam at Ngo Quyen High School, Phu Quy island district, with the option of transportation of exam papers from the mainland to Phu Quy island and candidates' answer sheets from Phu Quy island to the mainland for marking by high-speed boats.

How did the organization of the high school graduation exam on Phu Quy island district take place, what were the advantages and disadvantages?

The High School Graduation Exam in 2021, Phu Quy island district had 262 candidates registered for the exam, ensuring a sufficient number of candidates to establish 01 exam site. The organization of exam site in Phu Quy island district this year had many advantages such as facilities and equipment for the exam were guaranteed, candidates had more time to review because they did not have to travel to the mainland and waited for the exam, candidates felt more comfortable and confident; parents had more peace of minds due to not having to spend a lot of time transporting their children to the mainland as every year…

The biggest difficulty in organizing the 2021 high school graduation exam in Phu Quy island district was that the teachers of Ngo Quyen High School were not allowed to supervise directly the exam. Accordingly, in order to ensure the compliance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Department has assigned 40 officials to supervise the exam from the mainland to Phu Quy island district; At the same time, requiring those 40 exam officials to present at Phu Quy island 3 days before the exam to ensure their health.

How was the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic at the exam site on Phu Quy island district?

In order to ensure the safety of the High School Graduation Exam in 2021, the Department of Education and Training developed very thoughtful and careful plans and scenarios on Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control at the exam sites to ensure the health for candidates, exam official as well as students' parents. In addition, the Department also conducted COVID-19 tests for nearly 2,000 people including exam officials, teachers, employees and other forces such as the Police, Medics, and Electricity participating in the exam.

Candidates and exam officials at Ngo Quyen High School and other exam sites in the province had to strictly follow the measures for Covid-19 prevention and control, such as wearing face masks, washing hands, checking body temperature, keeping distance as prescribed.

How will the exam marking be conducted and when will the results be announced?

Currently, all of the candidates' answer sheets at Ngo Quyen High School, Phu Quy district have been delivered to the mainland by high-speed boat for marking according to regulations.

In this morning, the exam detachable head board has officially started working and is isolated 24/24 during the exam marking period. This year, about 100 teachers from high schools in the province are mobilized and assigned as the examiners. Currently, the Department of Education and Training of the province has fully prepared the conditions on facilities and equipment to organize the exam marking and preserving according to regulations; at the same time, coordinating with the Provincial Public Security to arrange forces ensuring security and safety for the examination.

After marking all the exam subjects, the Department will approve the exam results, then reporting and submitting all exam results to the Ministry of Education and Training for storage and comparison. It is expected that on 26/7, the Ministry of Education and Training will officially announce the results of the 2021 High School Graduation Exam. On that basis, the Department of Education and Training will send the electronic file of results to the high schools in the whole province and schools must print out and past them on their notice boards.
