Plan on reserving and supplying essential goods for Phu Quy island district

In order to ensure the reserve and supply of essential goods and timely
transportation, meeting the travel and consumption needs of the people of Phu
Quy district on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023 and in case of bad
weather, the island is isolated for days affecting people's lives and
socio-economic situation, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan
to ensure the reserve and supply of essential goods, means of passengers and
goods transportation for people of Phu Quy district on the occasion of the
Lunar New Year and in cases of bad weather in 2023.
Currently, there are
over 29,000 people in Phu Quy district; 175 household groceries, of which over
52 stores trading in rice products. In the northeast monsoon season (from
November to the end of March of the following year), the estimated demand for
essential commodities of people on Phu Quy island district is as follows: Rice:
320 tons/month; sugar: 5 tons/month; cooking oil: 3,000 liters/month; instant
noodles 3,200 cartons/month; pork: 57 tons/month; vegetables: 150 tons/month.
Accordingly, the
Department of Industry and Trade will closely monitor market developments, goods
supply and demand, perform well in market organization, and ensure the smooth
circulation of goods from the mainland to Phu Quy. Support and create
conditions for businesses and business establishments in the mainland to expand
their distribution networks and channels in order to well prepare essential
consumer goods for Phu Quy district to ensure reasonable prices, quality, food
safety and hygiene. Timely regulate the quantity of essential goods from the
Plan on ensuring the reserve of food and essential goods for the annual
disaster prevention and control, search and rescue of the Industry and Trade
sector to support the market of Phu Quy district.
