Prevention and control of aquatic animal diseases in the province

Provincial People's Committee has just issued the Plan for prevention and
control of aquatic animal diseases in Binh Thuan province in 2023.
The objectives of the
Plan are to organize effective prevention and control of a number of dangerous
diseases on farmed aquatic products; to support disease surveillance and
provide professional support to seafood production facilities and chains in the
process of building disease-free facilities in Binh Thuan. To instruct aquaculture
farmers on disease prevention measures. To closely monitor the situation, check
and promptly detect outbreaks of aquatic animal diseases, if any. To actively
and quickly deploy the fight against diseases of farmed aquatic animals if
occurs in the province.
In order to actively
prevent and control aquatic animal diseases in the province, the Provincial
People's Committee has requested the People's Committees of districts, towns
and cities to step up the work of information and propaganda on the disease
situation on farmed aquatic products, disseminate anti-epidemic measures in the
areas; at the same time, propagandize and mobilize farmers to actively respond
to disease prevention and control measures, proactively declare when there is
an epidemic, regularly organize environmental sanitation, and disinfect ponds. To
direct relevant divisions and units to closely monitor and supervise the local
aquaculture situation; in addition, strengthen inspection of farming conditions
and resolutely handle cases of violations of epidemic prevention and control as
prescribed by laws.
The breeding and
aquaculture establishments must apply disease prevention and control measures;
comply with regulations on quarantine, environmental monitoring, disease
reporting, archive all kinds of records related to the operation of the
establishment such as breeding stock; improving ponds and lagoons; management
of aquatic animals; treatment of outbreaks, waste and wastewater under the
guidance of the Sub-Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine,
Sub-Department of Fisheries.
