The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just requested relevant
departments, agencies, units, and the People's Committees of districts, towns,
and cities to proactively implement solutions to ensure an adequate power
supply for production, business, and people's livelihoods in 2025 and the
period from 2026 to 2030.
Accordingly,
relevant departments, agencies, and the People's Committees of districts,
towns, and cities are required to take proactive measures to resolve issues and
support the power sector and project investors in overcoming challenges related
to investment procedures, construction, land use, site clearance, and other
relevant matters during the implementation of power generation and grid
projects in the province. Particular priority should be given to key projects
such as the Son My LNG Terminal and the Son My I and Son My II BOT Thermal
Power Plants in Son My Commune, Ham Tan District. These efforts aim to
accelerate the commissioning of these projects, thereby ensuring a stable
electricity supply, strengthening national energy security, and fostering local
socio-economic development.
At the
same time, authorities should organize the selection of investors for power
generation and grid projects in the province that have been approved in the
planning and development plans by competent authorities, in accordance with
their jurisdiction and current regulations. Additionally, effective
electricity-saving measures should be implemented, focusing on optimal
solutions such as applying automation technology, utilizing solar energy, and
replacing conventional lighting with energy-efficient alternatives for public
lighting, advertisements, and outdoor decorations.
Binh Thuan
Electricity Company and Binh Thuan Power Transmission are required to
accelerate the progress of power projects and works for which they act as
investors or project management units. They should also plan for the periodic
upgrading, renovation, and maintenance of the power grid to ensure a safe and
continuous electricity supply for production, business activities, household
consumption, and the province’s socio-economic development. Additionally, they
must actively coordinate with local authorities in implementing power
infrastructure investments.
