Proactively preventing floods and inundation in the downstream area of La Nga River when discharging and regulating water through the spillway of Ham Thuan Lake

Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control,
Search and Rescue has just announced that Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi
Hydropower Joint Stock Company is regulating water through the spillway of Ham
Thuan Lake.
Accordingly, at 7:00 a.m. on
13/10/2021, the water level of Ham Thuan Lake reached the elevation of
602,023m, the intake flow was 320 m3/s, the average daily flow for running the
engine is 60 m/s. According to the hydrological forecast of Ham Thuan Lake, the
intake flow will maintain at 320 - 360 m3/s, and is expected to reach and
exceed the pre-flood elevation of 604 m. In order to keep the lake water level
within the allowable limits according to the operating procedures, Da Nhim -
Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company is going to discharge water
through the spillway with the flow from 25m3/s to 100m3/s and may increase the
flow depending on the intake flow to the lake.
