(binhthuan.gov.vn) According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, by the end of January 2022, the province has about 15,836 hectares/total area of 33,577 hectares of dragon fruits that have been producing and processing off-season flowering, with the expected output about 121,462 tons, of which dragon fruit produced by VietGap is 6,378 ha/54,216 tons, and by GlobalGAP is 520 ha/4,680 tons.

Currently, the whole province has about 111 establishments purchasing, preliminarily processing and packing for export, with the cold storage capacity of about 16,000 tons. However, the northern border gates are currently congested, temporarily suspending customs clearance, so the purchasing situation is very difficult, most businesses have temporarily stopped purchasing, a few businesses only buy temporarily to store but very little quantity. Therefore, the price of dragon fruit has dropped sharply now, even for products that meet GlobalGAP standards (grade 1 and 2 at the barn are only about 6,000 - 8,000 VND/kg, other grades are very low priced).

In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has  coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade to capture the clearance situation at border gates to promptly notify enterprises, cooperatives and producers on the situation of exportation at the border gates in the North; from there, having a suitable purchasing plan; recommending the export enterprises to split up their deliveries at different border gates to avoid concentration at one border gate to limit congestion; at the same time advocating the official export.
