Prolonged heavy rain caused Bac Binh more than 6 billion VND in damage

to Bac Binh District People's Committee, from September 22, 2021 to October 06,
2021, prolonged heavy rain along with water poured from upstream (Luy River) to
inland streams and canals have inundated some areas of rice (35-70 days old),
corn, crops, and fruit trees in communes and towns of Phan Hoa, Song Binh, Cho
Lau, Phan Ri Thanh, Phan Hiep, Hai Ninh, Binh An, Phan Son.
Via inspection and
review, the total damaged agricultural production area in the district is
303.41 ha/478 households; heavy rain in Binh Tan commune also washed away 2 cows
over 4 years old of 2 households. The total value of damage is nearly 6.5
billion VND.
Currently, the
locality is checking the status of inundation and instructing people to pump
out water to prevent waterlogging, to open the ditches to drain water faster. At
the same time, directing Bac Binh Branch - Binh Thuan Water Exploitation
Limited Liability Company to regulate water, reducing water flow to the fields
causing inundation. People's Committees, Commanding Committees for Disaster
Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue of communes to set up the inspection
teams to verify in details, listing the extent of area and damage of households
affected by rain and flood, and report to the District People's Committee for
consideration and support.
