QUICK REPORT

on COVID-19 situation 2021 (week 3)

(from 16h00, 14/01/2021 to 16h00, 21/01/2021)

 

I. COVID-19 SITUATION

According to the report of the Infectious Disease Monitoring System of Ministry of Health, up to 14:00, 21/01/2021, current COVID-19 (nCoV) situation is as follows:

1. In the world

- Total: 97.317.132 cases; 2.083.594 deaths.

- Countries with high morbidity and mortality rates:

+ USA: 24.998.975 cases, 415.8/94 deaths;

+ India: 10.611.719 cases, 152.906 deaths;

+ Brazil: 8.639.868 cases, 212.893 deaths;

+ Russia: 3.633.952 cases, 67.220 deaths;

+ England: 3.505.754 cases; 93.290 deaths

- 215 countries, territories have reported confirmed cases of infection.

2. In Vietnam

- Total: 1.544 cases / 46 provinces and cities, in which:

+ Recovered and discharged: 1.406 cases.

+ Under treatment: 103 cases.

+ 35 deaths.

3. In Binh Thuan province

Up to now, Binh Thuan province has gone through 314 consecutive days without any case of COVID-19 infection.

Currently, there is 01 case isolated in the concentrated medical isolation facilities, with stable health.

II. DEPLOYMENT OF DISEASE PREVENTION IN BINH THUAN

1. Directions of Central Government, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Committee, Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

2. Deployment results from 16:00, 14/01/2021 to now

2.1. Steering works

Dispatch no 210/SYT-NV dated 19/01/2021 of the Department of Health on strengthening and tightening COVID-19 prevention and control.

2.2. Professional works

- Number of sample taken from 16:00, 14/01/2021 to 16:00, 21/01/2021 is 25, accumulated 80 samples.

- Number of sample tested from 16:00, 14/01/2021 to 16:00, 21/01/2021 is 25, with negative results, accumulated 80 negative samples.

2.3. Propaganda works

- Continuing to propagate the situation of acute respiratory infections caused by Covid-19 in the entire province on website of the Department of Health, Binh Thuan Health information page, Newspapers, Provincial Radio and Television Station.

- Binh Thuan Radio – Television Station broadcasted 2 articles on COVID-19 prevention and control in afternoon and evening news on both television and radio channels, in particular: updates on COVID-19, directions of the Provincial People’s Committee on strengthening the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures. The radio channel conducted 8 times of broadcast trailer, the television channel conducted 6 times of broadcast trailer in order to raise awareness of people in conducting full and sufficient measures, regulations and guidances on COVID-19 prevention; implementing 5k measure (mask – disinfection – distance – not gather – health declaration).

- Coordinating with the Provincial Public Security Department continuously to monitor the information on social networks to promptly rectify and handle any case of inaccuracy, false or untrue information on the epidemic.

2.4. Deployment results of epidemic prevention by departments, agencies, localities and the management of tourists in Binh Thuan

2.4.1. Departments and agencies              

- By reviewing the data from the provincial Immigration Department and the tourist accommodation establishments, as of 21/01/2021, Binh Thuan has accommodated about 2.300 guests (increases 170 guests compared to 14/01/2021). From 14/01/2021 to 21/01/2021, Binh Thuan welcomed about 11.500 tourist arrivals.   

- Continuing to review and conduct medical declarations for civil servants, public employees, employees and their families and relatives who have contacted or returned from epidemic areas; and for cases of going back from epidemic areas have made local medical declarations and passed quarantine time in accordance with instructions and regulations.

2.4.2. People’s Committee of districts, towns and cities

Continue to direct units and localities to implement strictly the Dispatch no 4710/UBND-KGVXNV dated 01/12/2020 of the Provincial People’s Committee on strengthening the implementation of measures for COVID-19 prevention and control in the new situation. Strengthening the communication, and monitoring health at home, conducting medical declaration for cases coming back home from abroad and epidemic areas in order to have timely solutions to avoid spreading the epidemic to the community.

III. IDENTIFICATION OF EPIDEMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE COMING TIME

Over 314 days, Binh Thuan province has had no new case (from March 12 to now). However, the epidemic development is still very complicated. Currently, Vietnam has total 1.544 cases of COVID-19 infection; there are many cases of infection in the community with 35 deaths. Therefore, it is required that we are absolutely not being subjective, neglected, out of guard, and always ready at the highest level, especially for the forces directly engaged in epidemic prevention and control.  

IV. WORKS TO BE CONTINUATED IN THE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF EPIDEMIC

- Implementing sufficiently the directions stated at Directive no 01/CT-TTg dated 05/01/2021, Dispatch no 35/TTg-GKVX dated 13/01/2021 of the Prime Minister on strengthening COVID-19 prevention and control; Dispatch no 208/VPCP-QHQT dated 09/01/2021 of the Government Office on implementation of repatriation flights in the first quarter of 2021.

- Implementing the Telegram no 1838/CD-TTg dated 27/12/2020 of the Prime Minister on COVID-19 prevention and control; Telegram no 1699/CD-TTg dated 02/12/2020 on strengthening the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control; Telegram no 1852/CD-BCD dated 30/11/2020 of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on strengthening the supervision and management of immigration and the Dispatch no 1666/TTg-KGVX dated 26/11/2020 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control.

- Implementing the Dispatch no 72-CV/TU dated 12/01/2021 of the Provincial Party Committee of Binh Thuan on strengthening COVID-19 prevention and control.

- Implement seriously the Announcement No. 1067/TB-VPTU dated 28/7/2020 of the Provincial Party Committee Office on the Conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on urgent direction of measures for COVID-19 prevention and control; Official Dispatch no. 1810-CV/TU dated 30/7/2020 of Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee on strengthening leadership in Covid-19 prevention and control; the Dispatch no 47-CV/TU dated 14/12/2020 of the Provincial Standing Party Committee on strengthening the direction on COVID-19 prevention and control.

- Implementing the directions of the PPC at the Dispatch no 4710/UBND-KGVXNV dated 01/12/2020 of the PPC on strengthening the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control in the new situation; Dispatch no 4427/CV-BCD dated 29/12/2020 of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on deploying measures for COVID-19 prevention and control;

- Reviewing and listing of all cases in the area that have ever traveled to Da Nang city and other provinces with epidemic outbreaks to screen and verify at-risk cases for organizing appropriate medical isolation according to the guidance of the National Steering Committee and the Ministry of Health. Taking samples for early detection of infected cases to avoid spreading the disease to the community and request all of these cases to conduct immediately the medical declaration for monitoring and updating of health status.

- Monitoring closely the epidemic situation to proactively advice the Provincial People’s Committee to handle any arising situation.
