QUICK REPORT

on COVID-19 situation

(updated to 16h00, 05/9/2020)

 

I. COVID-19 SITUATION

According to the report of the Infectious Disease Monitoring System of Ministry of Health, up to 14:00, 05/9/2020, current COVID-19 situation is as follows:

1. In the world

- Total: 26.757.226 cases; 877.704 deaths.

- Countries with high morbidity and mortality rates:

+ USA: 6.383.696 cases, 191.938 deaths;

+ Brazil: 4.091.801 cases, 125.502 deaths;

+ India: 3.020.239 cases, 69.635 deaths;

+ Russia: 1.015.105 cases, 17.649 deaths;

+ Peru: 670.145 cases, 29.405 deaths;  

- 215 countries, territories have reported confirmed cases of infection.

2. In Vietnam

- Total: 1049 cases / 40 provinces, cities, in which:

+ Recovered and discharged: 786 cases.

+ Under treatment: 228 cases.

+ 35 deaths.

3. In Binh Thuan province

Up to now, Binh Thuan province has been recorded for 176 consecutive days without any case of COVID-19 infection.

Currently, the number of cases under centralized quarantine at the centralized isolation facilities is 09 cases, all them are in stable health. In which:

+ Ham Thuan Nam Center for Continuing – Vocational Education: 01 case.

+ Military Command of Duc Binh commune, Tanh Linh district: 06 cases.

+ LaGi centralized isolation zone no 2 (Tan Hai General Clinic): 02 cases.

II. DEPLOYMENT OF DISEASE PREVENTION IN BINH THUAN

1. Directions of Central Government, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Committee, Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

2. Deployment results from 16:00, 04/9/2020 to now

2.1. Steering works

2.2. Professional works

- Number of test samples taken from 16:00, 04/9/2020 to 16:00, 05/9/2020 is 06 (accumulated 1.115 samples).

- Number of test samples taken in the day is 06 with negative results (accumulated 1.115 samples with negative results).

- Number of people from those provinces and cities recorded infections according to the Ministry of Health to Binh Thuan province from 16:00, 04/9/2020 to 16:00, 05/9/2020 is 06 (accumulated 3.612 cases), and they are all closely monitored and supervised by the heal agencies, in which: 09 cases are quarantined at central isolation facilities, 397 cases are quarantined at homes. Currently, 3.206 cases have passed quarantine time.

2.3. Propaganda works

- Continuing to propagate the situation of acute respiratory infections caused by Covid-19 in the entire province on website of the Department of Health, Binh Thuan Health information page, Newspapers, Provincial Radio and Television Station.

- Binh Thuan Radio – Television Station broadcasted 02 propaganda on COVID-19 prevention in morning, afternoon, evening news on both radio and television channels, in particular:

+ Updates on Covid-19 situation on morning and afternoon of 05/9/2020; the new school year opening atmosphere associated with COVID-19 prevention and control;

+ the radio channel conducted 10 times of broadcast trailer, the television channel conducted 08 times of broadcast trailer to update timely the situation of COVID-19 prevention and control; information on basic knowledge of epidemic prevention, preventive healthcare; recommendation on the installation of Bluezone application for fast tracking of at-risk cases.

 - Coordinating with the Provincial Public Security Department to continuously monitor the information on social networks to promptly rectify and handle any case of inaccuracy, false or untrue information on the epidemic.

- Websites of Binh Thuan Propaganda, Binh Thuan Hometown, Binh Thuan Blue Sea, Binh Thuan Information, Youth Union of provincial agencies and enterprises, and other individual facebooks: propaganda on guiding Bluezone application installation.

2.4. Deployment results of epidemic prevention by departments, agencies, localities and the management of tourists in Binh Thuan

2.4.1. Departments and agencies

- By reviewing the data from the provincial Immigration Department and the tourist accommodation establishments, as of 08:59, 05/9/2020, Binh Thuan received about 3.375 guests (increases 925 guests compared to 04/9/2020), including: about 2.630 domestic visitors, 745 international visitors such as Russia: 157, Germany: 24, France: 33, USA: 69, Ukraine: 15, UK: 23.  

- Continuing to review and conduct medical declarations for civil servants, public employees, employees and their families and relatives who have contacted or returned from epidemic areas; and for cases of going back from epidemic areas have made local medical declarations and passed quarantine time in accordance with instructions and regulations.

2.4.2. People’s Committee of districts, towns and cities

- Continue to direct units and localities to strengthen the communication, and monitoring health at home, conducting medical declaration for cases coming back home from abroad and epidemic areas in order to have timely solutions to avoid spreading the epidemic to the community.

- Continue to direct functional units to strengthen the inspection and examination to prohibit speculation and accumulation of essential goods, medical supplies, strictly handle the speculation, goods hoarding, price increases, causing market instability in accordance with the laws.

III. IDENTIFICATION OF EPIDEMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE COMING TIME

Over 176 days, Binh Thuan province has had no new case (from March 12 to now). However, the epidemic development is still very complicated. Currently, Vietnam has total 1.049 cases of COVID-19 infection, there are many cases of infection in the community with 35 deaths. Therefore, it is required that we are absolutely not being subjective, neglected, out of guard, and always ready at the highest level, especially for the forces directly engaged in epidemic prevention and control.  

IV. WORKS TO BE CONTINUATED IN THE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF EPIDEMIC

- Implement strictly Announcement no 313/TB-VPCP dated 29/8/2020 of the Government Office on the Conclusion of Prime Minister - Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Standing meeting of the Government on COVID-19 prevention and control.

- Implement seriously the Announcement No. 1067/TB-VPTU dated 28/7/2020 of the Provincial Party Committee Office on the Conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on urgent direction of measures for COVID-19 prevention and control; Official Dispatch No. 1810-CV/TU dated 30/7/2020 of Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee on strengthening leadership in Covid-19 prevention and control, and Official Dispatch No. 2983/UBND-KGVXNV dated 07/8/2020 of the Provincial People's Committee on continuing to strengthen measures for COVID-19 prevention and control in the new situation.

- Reviewing and listing of all cases in the area that have ever traveled to Da Nang city and other provinces with epidemic outbreaks to screen and verify at-risk cases for organizing appropriate medical isolation according to the guidance of the National Steering Committee and the Ministry of Health; taking samples for early detection of infected cases to avoid spreading the disease to the community and request all of these cases to conduct immediately the medical declaration for monitoring and updating of health status.

- Focusing on immigration settlement for foreign experts come to work in Binh Thuan province, implementing well the centralized quarantine plan in accordance with the guidance of the Ministry of Health to ensure safety for COVID-19 prevention and control.
