COVID-19 situation
(updated to 16h00, 19/8/2020)
I.
COVID-19 SITUATION
According to the report
of the Infectious Disease Monitoring System of Ministry of Health, up to 15:00,
19/8/2020, current COVID-19 situation is as follows:
1.
In the world
- Total: 22.310.342 cases; 784.397 deaths.
- Countries with high
morbidity and mortality rates:
+ USA: 5.656.204 cases, 175.087 deaths;
+ Brazil: 3.411.872 cases, 110.019 deaths;
+ India: 2.768.670 cases, 53.026
deaths;
+ Russia: 932.493 cases, 15.872
deaths;
+ South Africa: 592.144
cases, 12.264
deaths;
- 215 countries,
territories have reported confirmed cases of infection.
2.
In Vietnam
- Total: 989 cases / 40 provinces, cities, in
which:
+ Recovered and
discharged: 525 cases.
+ Under treatment: 438 cases.
+ 26 deaths.
3.
In Binh Thuan province
Up to now, Binh Thuan
province has been recorded for 159 consecutive days without any case of
COVID-19 infection.
Currently, the number of
cases under centralized quarantine at the treatment faciclities and centralized
isolation faciclities is 09 cases, all them are in stable health. In which:
- Quarantined in
treatment faciclites: 07 cases.
+ Provincial General
Hospital: 01 cases.
+ Tanh Linh Medical
Center: 04 cases.
+ Ham Tan Medical Center:
01 cases.
+ Tuy Phong Medical
Center: 01 cases.
- Quarantined in
centralized isolation facilities: 02 cases. (in Ham Thuan Nan Center for Continuing
– Vocational Education).
There are 08 cases with
stable health, 01 cases with mild fever and sore throat.
II.
DEPLOYMENT OF DISEASE PREVENTION IN BINH THUAN
1.
Directions of Central Government, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial
People’s Committee, Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
- Official Dispatch no.
3182/UBND-TTTT dated 19/8/2020 of the PPC on the strengthening the propaganda on
installation of Bluezone application for COVID-19 prevention and control in the
province.
- Decision no.
1995/QĐ-BCD dated 18/8/2020 of the Provincial Steering Committee on COVID-19
Prevention and Control on the issuance of Plan to respond to level 2 of COVID-19
in Binh Thuan province.

Deployment results from 16:00, 18/8/2020 to now

Professional works
- Number of test samples
taken from 16:00, 18/8/2020 to 16:00, 19/8/2020 is 20 with result (accumulated 1027 samples).
- Number of test samples
taken in the day is 21 with negative result (accumulated 1026 tested samples with
negative results).
- Number of people from
those provincies and cities recorded infections according to the Ministry of Health
to Binh Thuan province from 16:00, 18/8/2020 to 16:00, 19/8/2020 is 24
(accumulated 3.451 cases), and they are all closely monitored and supervised by
the heal agencies, in which: 07 cases are quaranted at treament facilites, 02
cases are quaranted at central isolation facilities, 611 cases are quaranted at
homes. Currently, 2.831
cases
has passed quarantine time.
1.3.
Propaganda works
- Continuing to propagate
the situation of acute respiratory infections caused by Covid-19 in the entire
province on website of the Department of Health, Binh Thuan Health information
page, Newspapers, Provincial Radio and Television Station.
- Binh Thuan Radio –
Television Station has informed and propagated 2 news and 01 report on COVID-19
prevention and control in morning, afternoon, evening news on radio and
television chanels, namely: updates on COVID-19 situation in the morning and
afternoon of 19/8/2020; students of the College of Health to take training on
COVID-19 prevention and control; Binh Thuan Garment industry to overcome
difficulties to ensure production; in addition, the radio channel
conducted 3 times of broadcast trailer,
the television channel conducted 7 times of broadcast trailer.
- Coordinating with the
Provincial Public Security Department to continuously monitor the information
on social networks to promply rectify and handle any case of inaccurace, false
or untrue information on the epidemic.
- Facebooks of Binh Thuan
Propagandation, Binh Thuan Hometown, Binh Thuan Blue Sea, Binh Thuan
Information, Youth Union of provincial agencies and enterprises, and other
individual facebooks: informing the quick report of test results on 18/8 of
Binh Thuan province with 19 negative samples.
2.4.
Deployment results of epidemic prevention by departments, agencies, localities
and the management of tourists in Binh Thuan
2.4.1.
Departments and agencies
- By reviewing the data
from the provincial Immigration Department and the tourist accommodation
establishments, as of 19/8/2020, Binh Thuan received about 1.900 guests (decreases 100 guests compared to 18/8/2020), including:
about 1.220 domestic visitors, 680 international visitors such as
Russia: 178, Germany: 13,
France: 35, USA: 31,
Ukraine: 22, UK: 20.
- Continuing to review
and conduct medical declarations for civil servants, public employees, employees
and their families and relatives who have contacted or returned from epidemic
areas; and for cases of going back from epidemic areas have made local medical
declarations and passed quarantine time in accordance with instructions and
regulations.
2.4.2.
People’s Committee of districts, towns and cities
- Continue to direct units
and localities to strengthen the communication,
and monitoring health at home, conducting medical declaration for cases
coming back home from abroad and epidemic areas in order to have timely
solutions to avoid spreading the epidemic to the community.
- Continue to direct
functional units to strengthen the inspection and examination to prohibit
speculation and accumulation of essential goods, medical supplies, strictly
handle the speculation, goods hoarding, price increases, causing market
instability in accordance with the laws.
III.
IDENTIFICATION OF EPIDEMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE COMING TIME
Over 159 days, Binh Thuan
province has had no new case (from March 12 to now). However, the epidemic
development is still very complicated. Currently, Vietnam has total 989 cases of COVID-19 infection, there
are many cases of infection in the community with 26 deaths. Therefore, it is
required that we are absolutely not be
subjective, neglected, out of guard, and always ready at the highest level,
especially for the forces directly engaged in epidemic prevention and control.
IV.
WORKS TO BE CONTINUATED IN THE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF EPIDEMIC
- Implement strictly
Announcement no 300/TB-VPCP dated 14/8/2020 of the Government Office on the
Conclusion of Prime Minister - Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Standing meeting of the
Government on COVID-19 prevention and control.
- Implement seriously the
Announcement No. 1067/TB-VPTU dated 28/7/2020 of the Provincial Party Committee
Office on the Conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party
Committee on urgent direction of measures for COVID-19 prevention and control;
Official Dispatch No. 1810-CV/TU dated 30/7/2020 of Binh Thuan Provincial Party
Committee on strengthening leadership in Covid-19 prevention and control, and
Official Dispatch No. 2983/UBND-KGVXNV dated 07/8/2020 of the Provincial
People's Committee on continuing to strengthen measures for COVID-19 prevention
and control in the new situation.

Reviewing and listing of all cases in the area that have ever traveled to Da
Nang city and other provinces with epidemic outbreaks to screen and verify
at-risk cases for organizing appropriate medical isolation according to the
guidance of the National Steering Committee and the Ministry of Health; taking
samples for early detection of infected cases to avoid spreading the disease to
the community and request all of these cases to conduct immediately the medical
declaration for monitoring and updating of health status.

Focusing on immigration settlement for foreign experts come to work in Binh
Thuan province, implementing well the centralized quarantine plan in accordance
with the guidance of the Ministry of Health to ensure safety for COVID-19
prevention and control.
