QUICK REPORT

on COVID-19 situation

(updated to 16h00, 23/8/2020)

 

I. COVID-19 SITUATION

According to the report of the Infectious Disease Monitoring System of Ministry of Health, up to 15:00, 22/8/2020, current COVID-19 situation is as follows:

1. In the world

- Total: 23.388.681 cases; 808.753 deaths.

- Countries with high morbidity and mortality rates:

+ USA: 5.841.428 cases, 180.174 deaths;

+ Brazil: 3.582.698 cases, 114.277 deaths;

+ India: 3.049.855 cases, 56.875 deaths;

+ Russia: 951.987 cases, 16.310 deaths;

+ South Africa: 607.045 cases, 12.987 deaths;

- 215 countries, territories have reported confirmed cases of infection.

2. In Vietnam

- Total: 1014 cases / 40 provinces, cities, in which:

+ Recovered and discharged: 563 cases.

+ Under treatment: 424 cases.

+ 27 deaths.

3. In Binh Thuan province

Up to now, Binh Thuan province has been recorded for 163 consecutive days without any case of COVID-19 infection.

Currently, the number of cases under centralized quarantine at the treatment facilities and centralized isolation facilities is 11 cases, all them are in stable health. In which:

- Quarantined in treatment facilities: 05 cases.

+ Tanh Linh Medical Center: 03 cases.

+ Ham Tan Medical Center: 01 case.

+ Tuy Phong Medical Center: 01 case.

- Quarantined in centralized isolation facilities: 06 cases.

+ Ham Thuan Nam Center for Continuing – Vocational Education: 02 cases.

+ Tanh Linh Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities: 04 cases.

II. DEPLOYMENT OF DISEASE PREVENTION IN BINH THUAN

1. Directions of Central Government, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Committee, Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

2. Deployment results from 16:00, 22/8/2020 to now

2.2. Professional works

- Number of test samples taken from 16:00, 22/8/2020 to 16:00, 23/8/2020 is 06 (accumulated 1049 samples).

- Number of test samples taken till 16:00, 23/8/2020 is 1043 with negative results.

- Number of people from those provinces and cities recorded infections according to the Ministry of Health to Binh Thuan province from 16:00, 22/8/2020 to 16:00, 23/8/2020 is 04 (accumulated 3.491 cases), and they are all closely monitored and supervised by the heal agencies, in which: 05 cases are quarantined at treatment facilities, 06 cases are quarantined at central isolation facilities, 500 cases are quarantined at homes. Currently, 2.980 cases have passed quarantine time.

1.3. Propaganda works

- Continuing to propagate the situation of acute respiratory infections caused by Covid-19 in the entire province on website of the Department of Health, Binh Thuan Health information page, Newspapers, Provincial Radio and Television Station.

- Binh Thuan Radio – Television Station made 02 news on COVID-19 prevention and broadcasted them on radio and television channels, such as: updates on COVID-19 situations on the afternoon of 23/8; the Ministry of Health guides personal treatment when there are symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing. In addition, the radio channel conducted 3 times of broadcast trailer, the television channel conducted 7 times of broadcast trailer, 03 times of announcement.

- Coordinating with the Provincial Public Security Department to continuously monitor the information on social networks to promptly rectify and handle any case of inaccuracy, false or untrue information on the epidemic.

- Facebook of Binh Thuan Propaganda, Binh Thuan Hometown, Binh Thuan Blue Sea, Binh Thuan Information, Youth Union of provincial agencies and enterprises, and other individual facebooks: Information on propaganda of Bluezone application installation; the quick report of test results on 22/8 of Binh Thuan province with 13 negative samples.

2.4. Deployment results of epidemic prevention by departments, agencies, localities and the management of tourists in Binh Thuan

2.4.1. Departments and agencies

- By reviewing the data from the provincial Immigration Department and the tourist accommodation establishments, as of 23/8/2020, Binh Thuan received about 5.630 guests (increases 3.490 guests compared to 22/8/2020), including: about 4.890 domestic visitors, 740 international visitors such as Russia: 161, Germany: 13, France: 49, USA: 52, Ukraine: 19, UK: 25.  

- Continuing to review and conduct medical declarations for civil servants, public employees, employees and their families and relatives who have contacted or returned from epidemic areas; and for cases of going back from epidemic areas have made local medical declarations and passed quarantine time in accordance with instructions and regulations.

2.4.2. People’s Committee of districts, towns and cities

- Continue to direct units and localities to strengthen the communication, and monitoring health at home, conducting medical declaration for cases coming back home from abroad and epidemic areas in order to have timely solutions to avoid spreading the epidemic to the community.

- Continue to direct functional units to strengthen the inspection and examination to prohibit speculation and accumulation of essential goods, medical supplies, strictly handle the speculation, goods hoarding, price increases, causing market instability in accordance with the laws.

III. IDENTIFICATION OF EPIDEMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE COMING TIME

Over 162 days, Binh Thuan province has had no new case (from March 12 to now). However, the epidemic development is still very complicated. Currently, Vietnam has total 1014 cases of COVID-19 infection, there are many cases of infection in the community with 27 deaths. Therefore, it is required that we are absolutely  not be subjective, neglected, out of guard, and always ready at the highest level, especially for the forces directly engaged in epidemic prevention and control.  

IV. WORKS TO BE CONTINUATED IN THE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF EPIDEMIC

- Implement strictly Announcement no 300/TB-VPCP dated 14/8/2020 of the Government Office on the Conclusion of Prime Minister - Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Standing meeting of the Government on COVID-19 prevention and control.

- Implement seriously the Announcement No. 1067/TB-VPTU dated 28/7/2020 of the Provincial Party Committee Office on the Conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on urgent direction of measures for COVID-19 prevention and control; Official Dispatch No. 1810-CV/TU dated 30/7/2020 of Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee on strengthening leadership in Covid-19 prevention and control, and Official Dispatch No. 2983/UBND-KGVXNV dated 07/8/2020 of the Provincial People's Committee on continuing to strengthen measures for COVID-19 prevention and control in the new situation.

- Reviewing and listing of all cases in the area that have ever traveled to Da Nang city and other provinces with epidemic outbreaks to screen and verify at-risk cases for organizing appropriate medical isolation according to the guidance of the National Steering Committee and the Ministry of Health; taking samples for early detection of infected cases to avoid spreading the disease to the community and request all of these cases to conduct immediately the medical declaration for monitoring and updating of health status.

- Focusing on immigration settlement for foreign experts come to work in Binh Thuan province, implementing well the centralized quarantine plan in accordance with the guidance of the Ministry of Health to ensure safety for COVID-19 prevention and control.
