Ready to cope with the evolution of typhoon Conson near the East Sea

(binhthuan.gov.vn) According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently (07/9), typhoon Conson is active in the central region of the Philippines. At 10 o'clock, the location of the storm eye was about 12.2o North latitude; 124.0o East longitude. The strongest wind in the area near the storm eye is at level 8-9 (60-90km/h), gusts approaching level 11.

Due to the influence of the typhoon, from the early morning of 09/9, in the eastern seaboard of the north area of the East Sea, the winds gradually increased to level 8, then level 9, gusts approaching level 11; sea waves from 3.0-5.0m high; rough seas. Warning level of disaster risk in the eastern seaboard of the north area of the East Sea: level 3.

In order to actively respond to the evolution of the typhoon and heavy rains in the coming days in the context of the complicated development of the COVID-19 in the province; to ensure the safety of people, properties and vehicles operating at sea, to prevent large waves causing coastal erosion, heavy rains causing floods, inundations affecting people's lives and economy. The Office of the Provincial Standing Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue requests the People's Committees and Steering Committees of Natural Disaster Prevention, Control, Search and Rescue in districts, town and city to closely monitor the weather forecasts, detail developments of typhoon Conson; the situation of strong winds, high waves and tides, heavy rains to proactively respond and prevent in accordance with the measures being taken against COVID-19 epidemic in the localities and areas under blockade (relocate, evacuate if necessary) under the direction of the Prime Minister in Telegram No. 1107/CD-TTg dated 31/8/2021, ensuring epidemic prevention and control, and disaster safety for evacuation sites.

The Office of the Provincial Standing Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue also requests the Department of Health to direct the work of ensuring safety for the prevention and control of COVID-19, especially at the concentrated evacuation areas; to direct the work of ensuring safety and creating suitable conditions for the natural disaster prevention and control forces to perform their duties.
