Rectification on the situation of taking advantages of the press’s name for harassment or illegal activities

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just sent a dispatch
requesting to rectify the abuse of the press's name for harassment and illegal
activities.
Accordingly, it is
requested that heads of agencies, units and chairpersons of People's Committees
of districts, towns and cities to coordinate, provide and transparent
information for those requests for information in accordance with regulations,
principles, and purposes, ensuring the right to information of press agencies,
ensuring the press agencies operate in accordance with the provisions of the
Law on press and other current laws.
The Department of
Information and Communications shall strengthen the state management of press
in locality. Coordinating with the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party
Committee and relevant agencies in orienting the work of information and
propaganda to serve political tasks and essential information in accordance
with the actual situation of the locality. Performing the responsibility of
managing and inspecting the operation of representative offices and reporters
residing in the province according to regulations; strictly handling
violations, including activities of the central press agencies.
The Provincial
Journalists Association thoroughly to understand and raise awareness of the
roles and responsibilities of its members in implementing 10 articles of the
Regulations on ethics for journalists and the Code of Conduct on the use of
social networks. Strengthening the monitoring, supervision, inspection and making
clear conclusion for journalists who violate the Code of Professional Ethics,
Rules for using social networks of Vietnamese journalists to serve as a basis
for further handling.
Binh Thuan Newspaper,
the Provincial Radio and Television Station, and Binh Thuan Magazine of Culture
and Arts shall strictly adhere to the principles and purposes of operation,
well implementing the information and propaganda work to serve political tasks
as prescribed.
Representative
agencies and resident reporters of the Central Newspapers in the province shall
strictly comply with the principles and purposes of the press agency stated in
the license; ensuring the professional journalism activities in accordance with
the provisions of the Law on press, regulations on things not to be reported in
the press; truthfully and objectively reflecting information in the press./.
