Regulating water through the spillway of Ham Thuan lake

(binhthuan.gov.vn) Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company (DHD Company) has just announced the water regulation through the spillway of Ham Thuan lake with a discharge flow of 25 m3/s when the water level reaches the highest pre-flood water level elevation.
According to DHD Company, from the beginning of August 2023 until now, the water flow to Ham Thuan lake has always remained high, the average intake flow is 125.87 m3/s per day. At 24:00 on August 28, 2023, the water level of Ham Thuan lake reached a height of 601.367 m, just 1.133 m lower than the highest pre-flood water level elevation (602.5 m).
It is forecasted that with the intake flow to Ham Thuan lake continuing to remain at a high level, the water level of Ham Thuan lake will reach the highest pre-flood water level elevation in the next few days.
in order to ensure the highest pre-flood water level of Ham Thuan lake according to regulations under the inter-reservoir operating procedures in the Dong Nai river basin, DHD Company will regulate water through the spillway of Ham Thuan lake with a discharge flow of 25 m3/s when the reservoir water level reaches the highest pre-flood water level elevation and can be adjusted to increase depending on the hydrological situation in the reservoir basin.
DHD Company requests the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue of Ham Thuan Bac, Tanh Linh, Duc Linh districts; the People's Committees of Da Mi and Dong Tien communes to inform people in downstream of the reservoir to proactively relocate property, vehicles and harvest agricultural and aquatic products being grown in areas at risk of being affected when regulating water through the spillway and be highly alert to the risk of unsafety when moving across the river.
