Research and application of scientific and technological advances in the province continue to be promoted

In the first 6 months of 2024, the research and application of scientific and
technological advances in the province continued to receive attention and
implemented in accordance with regulations and local socio-economic development
orientations.
Specifically,
3G and 4G telecommunications network infrastructure has been developed and
expanded to cover 98% of the population; mobile broadband and fixed broadband
(optical cable) have been covered in mountainous and remote areas to ensure
information network safety and smooth communication. The quality of
telecommunications and cable TV services is increasingly improving with the
previous lowest packages from 40Mbps now being raised to 60Mbps, high packages
having been increased to 80Mbps.
In
addition, information technology (IT) technical infrastructure is continued to
be invested, upgraded and expanded. Applying IT in management, administration,
and administrative reform serving people and businesses is increasingly better,
effectively, and with information transparency. It is accelerating progress in
digital transformation and e-commerce development (Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU,
March 18, 2022 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee (term XIV)). Review
and evaluate the situation of ensuring network information security for
information systems in the province; deploy the management support platform to
ensure information system security by level according to the guidance of the
Information Security Department.
In
particular, complete the removal and undergrounding of telecommunications
cables on paved roads in Phan Thiet city (13 roads), ensuring urban aesthetics;
it is preparing to arrange, embellish and streamline the telecommunications
cable system in the province in 2024.
