Resolutely not allowing the fishing vessels and fishermen of the province to violate the foreign waters

Determining the prevention and control of IUU fishing as one of the most
important and leading tasks, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial
People's Committee and the Provincial People's Council have issued many documents
directing and mobilizing the drastic actions of the whole political system,
attaching the responsibilities of the heads of departments, agencies,
localities, units and mass organizations in IUU fishing prevention and control,
overcoming the recommendations of the European Commission (EC), especially
taking urgent measures to prevent and stop fishing vessels and fishermen in our
province from violating foreign waters.
In order to support
fishermen, the Provincial People's Committee's Council issued Resolution No.
02/2022/NQ-HDND dated May 25, 2022 stipulating the support regime for
purchasing and installing the monitoring equipment for fishing vessels in the province.
Accordingly, the purchase and installation of monitoring equipment is supported
by 10,000,000 VND for each fishing vessel. As of September 15, 2022, the whole
province has 1,902 fishing vessels that have installed VMS equipment/1,926 fishing
vessels in operation with a length of 15 m or more, reaching 98.8%.
In the coming time,
relevant departments, agencies and localities with sea will continue to perform
synchronously and drastically the tasks and solutions to prevent IUU fishing
under the direction of the Standing Committee of the Secretariat, the Prime
Minister, the National Steering Committee on IUU Fishing Prevention, resolutely
to prevent and not allowing fishing vessels and fishermen of the province from
violating foreign waters.
