According to the Office of the National Committee for Natural Disaster Response,
Search and Rescue, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center,
at 03:00 on May 15, 2024 in the area located at: 09o45'N - 114o23'E,
about 340 nautical miles on southeast of Nha Trang city; vessel BTh 97759 TS with
15 workers, owned and captained by Mr. Tran Quang Y, born in 1981, residing in
Ngu Phung commune, Phu Quy district, Binh Thuan province (Phone: 0368.689.909)
had 01 worker fell into the sea and disappeared; the captain sent a request for
search assistance.
Through
the fishing vessel monitoring system within 20 nautical miles, there are 03 vessels
operating near the above area, including: vessel QNg 96337 TS about 9 nautical
miles away, vessel KH 94888 TS about 17 nautical miles away, vessel BD 97282 TS
about 21 nautical miles away. The weather in the above area has the northeast
wind at level 5.
In
order to promptly support and search for missing fishermen, Binh Thuan Maritime
Port Authority has requested the Phan Thiet Coastal Information Station to
broadcast the search information; Vessel owners and maritime agents (appointed
as agents) must inform their units' boats that if operating near area where
fisherman is missing to increase observation and support the search and rescue in
