In general, the prices of essential items serving the demand on Tet holiday did not increase, the market did not have the phenomenon of speculation nor excessive price increases.

The situation of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the sea area of the province was well controlled. However, the situation of smuggling, trade fraud, production and sale of counterfeit and banned goods and infringement of intellectual property rights on the mainland was still complicated, especially the trade of unknown origin goods, banned goods such as firecrackers, smuggled cigarettes, illegal mining, transport and storage of minerals continued to occur in many localities with increasingly sophisticated methods and tricks.

In January 2023, the functional forces inspected and detected 402 violations / 455 violators; the total amount of fines and payment to the State budget was nearly 7 billion VND. In which, the market surveillance force inspected 33 cases, discovered 22 violations, handled 14 cases with a total amount of administrative fines and paid more than 416 million VND to the State budget; the provincial police force inspected and detected 314 cases / 367 violations in the field of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, banned goods, intellectual property infringement and violations of food hygiene and safety; the provincial border guard force arrested 04 cases / 04 subjects of illegally possessing narcotics, seized 2.4 grams of heroin, 0.3 grams of methamphetamine, 0.9 grams of ketamine, and 1.5 grams of ecstasy; the forest ranger detected and made records of handling violations on forest protection 23 cases with acts such as illegal deforestation, violations of regulations on timber and forest products exploitation, illegal trading and transport of forest products…

In the coming time, the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit goods will continue to direct functional forces to strengthen inspection and strictly handle acts of speculation and unreasonable price hikes to deceive consumers. Strengthening coordination, connection and information sharing in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeiting. Regularly inspecting to detect, prevent and promptly handle acts of smuggling, trade fraud, producing and trading of counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, unknown origin goods, especially pharmaceutical products, foodstuffs, petroleum, fertilizers.
