Strengthening prevention and control of diseases caused by adenoviruses

Thuan Department of Health has just sent a written request to the provincial
Center for Disease Control, hospitals and health centers in the province to
strengthen the prevention and control of diseases caused by adenoviruses.
Accordingly, the
Department of Health requires units to strengthen propaganda on measures to
prevent and control the disease caused by the adenoviruses on the mass media,
focusing on the contents of recommendations on fight and prevention infection
by practicing good environmental and personal hygiene, washing hands with soap
and clean water; cover mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing; not to share
personal items with the infected person, especially items containing the
patient's secretions...
The Provincial Center
for Disease Control shall direct and coordinate with the district health centers
to strengthen surveillance and early detection of cases and outbreaks caused by
adenovirus, thoroughly handle the outbreaks to limit the spreading on a large
scale; promptly and fully report the epidemic situation as regulated by the
Ministry of Health.
It is known that
since the beginning of 2022, the National Children's Hospital has detected 412
cases of adenovirus disease, of which 324 cases were required to be hospitalized,
accounting for 76% of the total number of cases. The number of cases tends to
increase from August 2022. There have been 6 deaths due to the disease.
According to the Center for Disease Control of Binh Thuan province, since the
beginning of the year, the province has recorded 08 cases of disease caused by adenoviruses,
no deaths; these cases appeared in La Gi./.
