Strengthening prevention and control of HFMD

(binhthuan.gov.vn) Along with maintaining medical forces to carry out vaccination work at fixed and mobile injection points, maintaining monitoring and control of the COVID-19 situation, the province's health system is proposing many solutions to further strengthen the prevention and control of annual common diseases, especially dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD), minimizing the risk of epidemic outbreaks.

According to preliminary statistics, up to now, the province has recorded 253 cases of HFMD. Although it decreased by nearly 28% compared to the same period in 2021, it increased sharply compared to the previous months.

Currently, there is no specific vaccine for the disease, prevention is the most common measure to avoid the transmission of the disease through the digestive tract and most importantly, it is important to pay attention to avoid direct contact with source of infection.

It can be said that the care and prevention of HFMD for children are not only the responsibilities of parents but also depending a lot on teachers and caregivers to be able to detect early symptoms and signs of illness for timely isolation. Because if it is not well prevented, monitored, detected and handled, the environment at preschools and kindergartens will be the place with many risks of infection for young children./.
