Strengthening the prevention and control of COVID-19 at the medicine retail establishments

complicated situation of COVID-19 in Phan Thiet city and La Gi town, in order
to further strengthen measures for preventing and controlling the spread of
COVID-19 to the community, the Department of Health has issued a dispatch
requesting the medicine retail establishments (pharmacies and drugstores) to
fully implement measures for COVID-19 prevention and control as recommended by
the Ministry of Health during their operation, such as: wearing face masks,
washing hands, disinfecting, keeping safe distance from the buyers, etc..., and
propagating to people who come to buy medicine to strictly follow the
recommendations of the health authorities on COVID-19 prevention and control.
In case of selling over-the-counter
drugs, the retail staffs need to strictly and fully follow the steps of the
drug selling process, providing information and advising on the use of drugs,
and clearly exploiting information on patient's medical history. When the
patient has one of the following symptoms: Fever; cough; headache; sore throat;
runny nose, stuffy nose; shortness of breath; chest pain, chest tightness; body
aches, muscle pain; decrease or loss of taste or smell; abdominal pain, nausea;
diarrhea, it is necessary to guide the patient to the nearest medical facility
for examination and treatment.
The Department of Health states that:
Inspectors of the Department of Health will inspect and strictly handle any
case that do not comply with regulations./.
