However, the fact that the number of cases may be high because most cases are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms, people do not test or do not report, so the surveillance system is difficult to catch full information. The rate of COVID-19 vaccination in some subjects has not yet reached the set target, so the risk of an outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic may occur if the epidemic prevention and control measures are not continued to be strictly and drastically implemented as prescribed.

In order to continue strengthening the prevention and control of COVID-19 in the province, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has requested the Directors of the Departments, Units and agencies and the Chairpersons of the People's Committees of the districts, towns and cities to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the directions of the Government, the Prime Minister, the Provincial People's Committee in the prevention and control of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases; absolutely must not be subjective, negligent, or losing vigilance; seriously and effectively implementing measures to prevent and control the epidemic according to Plan No. 1519/KH-UBND dated May 20, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of Decree No. 38/NQ-CP dated March 17, 2022 of the Government promulgating the Program on prevention and control of COVID-19 in Binh Thuan province.

The Department of Health shall actively and closely monitor the epidemic situation in the province; prepare to respond to possible epidemic situations. Strengthen the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures at seaports, educational institutions, health facilities and communities for early detection and timely handling to prevent the disease from spreading out to the community; coordinate with the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang to carry out sampling and sequencing genes for cases with abnormal expressions to early detect new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

To direct medical examination and treatment establishments to well perform the collection, emergency, care and treatment of disease cases, especially for high-risk groups to minimize the number of deaths and perform well the infection control work, to prevent cross-contamination in the treatment facilities; Prepare plans for patient collection and treatment and actively improve treatment capacity, especially emergency and active resuscitation capacity to meet treatment requirements.

To continue to accelerate the COVID-19 vaccination to achieve the target under the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister; mobilize the participation of local authorities and departments, agencies and mass organizations to drastically implement the review and mobilization of subjects to participate in full COVID-19 vaccination, especially for groups high risk.

The Department of Information and Communications, Provincial Radio and Television Station, Binh Thuan Newspaper shall strengthen communication on disease prevention to raise awareness and change people's behavior in protecting the health of themselves and their families and the community. Regularly updating information on the epidemic situation and advising people to comply with epidemic prevention and control requirements such as: Wearing masks, disinfecting in medical facilities, on public transports and at places and events with large crowds, especially during the holidays of April 30 and May 01 in the coming time and when attending events within the framework of the Visit Vietnam Year. Focusing on information on the benefits and effects of vaccines; closely following the psychological trends of the people and society to improve the trust of the community and mobilizing the people to participate in vaccination fully and timely. Absolutely not be subjective, negligent, or losing vigilance; and effectively implementing measures to prevent and control the epidemic.

The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities shall actively supervise and closely monitor the epidemic situation in the areas; prepare to respond to possible epidemic situations; strengthen the implementation of measures for COVID-19 prevention and control in the area to detect early and handle timely according to regulations.

To continue to direct and drastically implement the review and mobilization of participants in full COVID-19 vaccination, especially with high-risk groups.

To continue to direct the implementation of disease prevention communication activities to raise awareness and change people's behavior in protecting the health of themselves, their families and the community; on the benefits and effectiveness of vaccination COVID-19 so that people can fully participate in vaccination on prescribed schedule.

Departments, agencies and units according to their assigned functions and tasks shall coordinate to implement synchronously, uniformly and drastically; promote responsibilities and roles; step up propaganda on COVID-19 prevention and control via the mass media, orient public opinion and the people to firmly grasp and understand the knowledge and harms about the epidemic to proactively take prevention and voluntarily comply with regulations on epidemic prevention.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also suggests the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province and the provincial socio-political organizations to continue to promote the propaganda and mobilization of the People to uphold the sense of responsibility, perseverance, solidarity and determination to prevent COVID-19, to contribute stabilize the life and production of people and economic sectors./.
