HIV/AIDS pandemic is still complicated, and the risk of a returning is still
high. The number of people living with HIV among men who have sex with men
(MSM) tends to increase.
In August 1994, Binh
Thuan recorded the first HIV infection, which was a blood seller at Binh Thuan
Provincial General Hospital. Through epidemiological surveillance, the health
sector identified this person as a drug user and died in 1996. Up to now, the
cumulative number of HIV infections in the province is 6,705 people. In which,
the number infected with HIV in prisons is 5,275 people, with located in Binh
Thuan is 1,688 people. Of the total number of HIV infections located in Binh
Thuan, 1,147 people are still alive, 547 people died from AIDS. The province
currently has 680 patients being treated with ARV (anti-HIV drugs). The number
of people infected with HIV is highly living in Phan Thiet (523 people), Ham
Thuan Bac (155 people), Tuy Phong (152 people), Duc Linh (148 people).

nhiễm HIV mới có địa chỉ tại Bình Thuận, giảm 27 người so với cùng kỳ năm 2021;
10 ca tử vong do bệnh này.
Particularly from the
beginning of 2022, districts, towns and cities throughout the province have detected
29 new HIV cases living in Binh Thuan, decreased 27 people compared to the same
period in 2021; 10 deaths from this disease.
In the coming time,
the Provincial Center for Disease Control will continue to effectively monitor
and detect new cases, promptly put them into management and treatment.
Deploying and expanding treatment by ARV for HIV/AIDS patients with funding
from health insurance, implementing HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis when eligible.
