The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has just issued a
forecast of strong winds, large waves and thunderstorms at sea.
According
to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1:00 a.m. on
September 4, the center of the storm was located at about 18.8 degrees north
latitude; 118.3 degrees east longitude, in the eastern area of the North East
Sea. The strongest wind near the storm eye was at level 10-11 (89-117 km/h),
gusting to level 13, moving in the West - Northwest direction, about 10 km/h.
In
Phu Quy, there was gusts at level 8; the eastern area of the North East Sea had
storms; the central area of the East Sea, the sea areas from Binh Thuan to Ca
Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand had showers and
thunderstorms.
Forecast
for the day and night of September 4, the eastern of the North East Sea will
have strong winds of level 8-10, surrounding area of the storm eye will have
strong winds of level 11-13, gusting to level 16; the sea is very rough with 2-4m
high waves, and 4-6m high waves at surrounding area of the storm eye. The sea
from Ninh Thuan to Ca Mau, the Central and Southern East Sea (including the
Truong Sa archipelago) will have winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough
sea. In addition, on the day and night of September 4, there will be storms in
the eastern area of the North East Sea; the Central and Southern East Sea
(including the Truong Sa archipelago), the sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca
Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have showers and thunderstorms.
During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of
level 7-8, be careful of wave heights sometimes increasing to over 2m.
The National
Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that on the day and night of
September 5, the northern area of the North East Sea will have strong winds
of level 9-11, near the storm eye has strong winds of level 12-14, gusting to
level 17; rough seas; waves may increase to 7.0-9.0m. The southern area of
the North East Sea, the Central and Southern East Sea (including the waters
of the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos) will have strong southwest winds of
level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9; rough seas; waves are from
2-4.5m high. The risk of natural disasters due to strong winds at sea is at level
2, especially the sea area of the North East Sea is at level 3. All ships
operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes,
strong winds and large waves.
Regarding storm no.
3 YAGI, on September 3, the storm entered the northeastern area of the North
East Sea, becoming storm no. 3 in 2024. At 4:00 a.m. on September 4, the center
of the storm was at about 18.9 degrees north latitude; 118.0 degrees east
longitude, in the eastern area of the North East Sea. The strongest wind near
the storm eye was level 11 (103-117 km/h), gusting to level 13, moving in the
West Northwest direction, about 10 km/h.
It is forecasted
that from September 5-6, storm no. 3 may reach very strong level in the
northern area of the North East Sea, winds may reach level 14, gusting to
level 17 near the storm eye. In the next 24 hours, in the eastern area of the
North East Sea, waves will be 2-4m high, and 4-6m in the area near the storm
center. From September 5-6, it may gradually increase to 7-9m. The sea will be
very rough. Ships operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are all
likely to be affected by strong winds and large waves.
