Subjects of COVID-19 vaccination will be expanded

is considered as the most effective and proactive measure in COVID-19
prevention and control. Recently, thanks to the good implementation of vaccine
diplomacy, the number of vaccines to Vietnam has increased, so Binh Thuan has
also been allocated a significant amount of vaccine by the Central Government. With
more vaccines distributed in the near future, Binh Thuan will expand the
population of people vaccinated against COVID-19, aiming to have at least 50%
of people at the age of 18 and above to be vaccinated.
Binh Thuan
implemented the first COVID-19 vaccination campaign in April 2021 and the
second phase in June 2021 for subjects receiving the first injection according
to the Government's Resolution 21, focusing mainly on people who are directly
involved in COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment at medical facilities.
After 2 phases, more than 32,000 people were vaccinated with AstraZeneca
vaccine. The subsequent injections had been carried out immediately after the
vaccine was distributed, and the subjects of injection were gradually expanded
according to the 09 priority groups of the Government's Resolution No. 21 and
Decision No. 3355 of the Ministry of Health.
As of 20/9/2021, the
whole province has had more than 170,544 people vaccinated against COVID-19
with 03 vaccines, namely AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, of which 110,020 people
are injected the first dose and 60,524 people received the second dose.
Deputy Director of
the Department of Health - Nguyen Ba Tong said: "The allocation of vaccine
and type of vaccine are completely out of the province's control and depended
entirely on the Ministry of Health. In the past time, the provincial leaders
have actively contacted the central government to register the amount of
vaccine for the province as much as possible. In the near future, as long as
the Ministry of Health allocates any type of vaccine to the province, the
health sector will immediately deploy that vaccine as soon as possible, because
the best vaccine is the one that is given at the earliest”./.
