Support for search and rescue of the boat SUCCESS that lost contact

The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and
Rescue has just requested the Provincial Border Guard Command and relevant
agencies and units to support the search and rescue of the lost sailboat named SUCCESS
at sea.
According
to the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region III, the boat
SUCCESS, nationality San Marino, journeyed from Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong,
expected to arrive on May 27. However, at 6:00 p.m. on May 23, the sailboat
lost contact and the engine had trouble. The sailboat's last identified
position at 14:54 on May 22 was 10o19'N - 107o14'E (about
10 nautical miles on the east of Vung Tau cape). The sailboat's location and
condition of the crew are currently unknown. There are 4 Russian nationals on
board.
The
Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and
Rescue requests the Provincial Border Guard Command to direct Border Guard
stations in the area to notify boat owners currently operating at sea to
increase observation, and support or immediately inform the authorities if
detected. Phan Thiet Coastal Information Station, Binh Thuan Maritime Port
Authority broadcast rescue information for ships and boats operating in the
above area to increase observation and support the search and rescue.
The
Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and
Rescue also requests the People's Committee and the Steering Committee for
Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue of coastal districts, towns and
cities to notify their local boats operating at sea about the incident to
support timely the search and rescue.
