Support needed for Ham Thuan Bac district to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters

(binhthuan.gov.vn) According to the
People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac district, from 21/5/2021, heavy rains have
occurred in the district, causing local inundation and flooding, affecting crop
areas and damaging many roads in communes: Ham Chinh, Ham Thang, Thuan Minh, Ma
Lam, Ham Tri, Ham Phu and Hong Son.
Moreover, heavy rains have eroded
about 5,000 m of internal roads in Thuan Minh commune. In terms of agricultural
production, heavy rains have caused local inundation and flooding, damaging
664.1 hectares of agriculture land, of which the damaged rice area is 648.7
hectares; the area of damaged crops, vegetables of all kinds is 15.5 hectares. Estimated
value of damage is about 2.5 billion VND.
Pursuant to Decree no. 02/2017/ND-CP
dated 09/01/2017 of the Government on mechanisms and policies for supporting
agricultural production to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters,
the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac district proposes the Provincial
People's Committee to consider and provide financial support for the district
to restore agricultural production damaged by natural disasters caused by heavy
rains and floods toward 664.1 hectares of agricultural production area.
