As reported by the Provincial Statistics Office, in June, taking advantage of
the rainy weather, afforestation units planted 790 hectares of production
forest. About 140,000 hectares of transitional forest protection have been
contracted. Forest owners continued to focus on sowing, caring for seedlings,
and planting scattered trees according to plan; 3 million seedlings of all
kinds have been planted to date.
In
addition, functional units regularly organize patrols and control areas with
high fire risk; Monitor and promptly notify forest fire forecast levels in
districts, towns and cities; put into use fire prevention and fighting works in
the dry season in 2024. In the first 6 months of the year, the whole province
had 20 cases of vegetation fires (leaves, dry grass...) under the forest canopy
(06 cases higher than the same period), fire cases were detected early and
promptly extinguished, so they did not cause damage to forest resources.
Forest
protection, forest product management, and forest land encroachment prevention
have also been strengthened; deploy patrol, inspection and raid activities in
key areas; monitor and grasp developments and situations in areas bordering Lam
Dong, Ninh Thuan provinces and key areas within the province. Cumulatively in 6
months, 136 cases of forestry law violations were discovered and processed (an
increase of 28 cases over the same period), confiscating more than 105 m3 of
all kinds of wood, 115 kg of forest animals, 01 car, 64 motorbikes and 30 other
vehicles. The whole province had 13 cases of encroachment and appropriation of
forest land with an area of 2.6 hectares (increased 02 cases over the same
period).
