Tanh Linh was partially flooded about 45 hectares of summer-autumn rice crop due to heavy rain

(binhthuan.gov.vn) As reported by the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue, on the nights of June 30 and July 1, heavy rain occurred in Tanh Linh district causing flooding, and Mang To commune was the worst affected. Causing damage to agricultural production, irrigation canal systems and flood drainage channels, affecting people's daily life.

Consequently, about 45 ha of summer-autumn rice crop were locally flooded (sown from 30 to 35 days old) in the fields of 365 Mang To commune (through the review, the above-mentioned flooded rice areas have receded and there is no possibility of damage). On the other hand, heavy rain caused flood drainage canal downstream of embankment 41 to be broken a length of about 10 m and 3 m wide; landslides at the the regulation cluster combined with the infield bridge 41; a section of bridge No. 7 broken; the irrigation and drainage channel VC8 was broken and filled 25 m. Estimated value of damage was about 120 million VND.

After the rain stopped, the People's Committee of Mang To commune continued to direct the collection of garbage in the drainage systems of irrigation canals and streams to help drain water faster and limit damage to agricultural production areas.

The Standing Office of the Provincial Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue requested the People's Committee of Tanh Linh District to direct the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue to coordinate with the District's Agriculture and Rural Development Division and the relevant functional divisions and the People's Committee of Mang To Commune to establish a working team to inspect, verify and assess the extent of damage (if any), and guide people to prepare records, synthesize and report to the District People's Committee for supports.
