implementing preventive measures and strengthening immunization in all age
groups, especially the basic doses for children from 5 to under 12 years old
are important and necessary solutions in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic with
the emergence of new variants.
In Binh Thuan,
vaccination has always been actively implemented by localities during the past
time. However, the level of effectiveness of proactive prevention with vaccines
in each age group is in dire need of accompany, response and coordination from
the people.
Up to now, the
COVID-19 vaccination for children from 5 to under 12 years old in Phan Thiet
City has reached more than 73% of the first dose; second dose is more than
6,300 out of 16,000 children previously listed. For children from 12 to under
18 years old, the rate of 1st booster injection is currently just over 28%,
still quite low compared to the provincial average. This poses a big challenge
for Phan Thiet city before the common goal of epidemic prevention and control
in the province.
According to the medical
experts, anyone can be infected, whether or not the body has an underlying
medical condition. In addition, the risk of infection and serious changes is
always present if the body is not defended. In order for young children to be
sociable, innocently play, study with friends and still be safe against
epidemic when they return to school, it is very necessary for the cooperation
of parents to join hands, creating opportunities for children to have
antibodies to actively protect and limit sources of passive transmission and reverse
infection to the family in the current context of epidemic./.
