(binhthuan.gov.vn) According to statistical data provided by the
Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first 6 months of 2021, the
province is estimated to welcome about 1,750,000 visitor arrivals (reaching
36.8% of the annual plan, increases 1.13% over the same period in 2020); revenue
from tourism activities is about VND 3,700 billion (reaching 29.3% of the
annual plan, decreases 2.1% over the same period in 2020).
Currently, the
province has 580 tourist accommodation establishments with a total of 16,423
rooms. It is ranked 71 accommodation establishments, with 5,440 rooms, of which
5-stars standard: 03 facilities with 357 rooms; 4-stars standard: 27 facilities
with 3,018 rooms; 3-stars standard: 16 facilities with 1,214 rooms; 2-stars
standard: 16 facilities with 654 rooms; 1 star standard: 09 facilities with 197
rooms; hotel: 184 facilities with 6,312 rooms; motel: 220 facilities with 3,208
rooms; rooms for rent: 99 facilities with 1,272 rooms; tourist campsite: 01
facility with 50 rooms; apartment: 01 facility with 56 rooms. In addition,
there are 557 apartments and 315 villas. Due to the impact of COVID-19
epidemic, there is now only about 60-65% of accommodation establishments receiving
guests (mainly small establishments), whereas the large establishments are
operating moderately, the average room capacity is only from 10 to 20%, mainly
domestic tourists on weekends and holidays (reaching about 80-90% of room
capacity). Most accommodation establishments have to apply policies of reducing
room rates and improving service quality to attract guests. Currently, there
are about 25 units still operating in travel business, including 07
international travel businesses.
It can be seen that
in the first 6 months of 2021, COVID-19 epidemic has not only impacted
negatively the tourism industry in the world, as well as in Vietnam, including
Binh Thuan, with a sharp decrease in the number of international visitors as
well as the number of domestic tourists, but also affected adversely many other
economic sectors.
