(binhthuan.gov.vn) In
the first 9 months of 2022, the total number of TB patients of all types being
admitted and treated increases by more than 40% compared to the same period in
2021. In the face of an increasing number of TB cases, the goal of ending TB by
2030 is even more burdensome and difficult for the health sector.
According to the
Department of Health of Binh Thuan province, the total number of TB patients admitted
and treated in the first 9 months of 2022 is estimated at 1,310 cases, reaching
nearly 69% of the year plan, increased by 42.8% over the same period in 2021.
AFB (+) pulmonary tuberculosis patients is estimated at 760 cases in 9 months,
increased by 43.4% over the same period in 2021. Most of the diseases related
to AFB pulmonary TB are very dangerous and remain the risk of quick spreading.
If having a positive (+) record of pulmonary tuberculosis, the patient should
be isolated and treated promptly.
Each year, the
Provincial Lung Hospital screens, detects and treats about 1,000 to 1,200 cases
of tuberculosis of all types.
Doctor Nguyen Thanh
Nguyen is examining patients
Doctor Nguyen Thanh
Nguyen shared: “For tuberculosis, when a patient finds out that he or she has
TB in the community, they are very self-conscious and guilty. Therefore, TB
treatment doctors must first and foremost love their profession, passionate and
enthusiastic in their work. Most importantly, they aren’t afraid of the infection
of TB. Only then, they can work long-term in this sector.”
Provincial Lung
Hospital is gradually modernizing, applying new techniques in diagnosis and
treatment
In order to
contribute to the successful implementation of the goal of ending tuberculosis
by 2030, Binh Thuan Lung Hospital is focusing on improving the quality of human
resources; strengthen physical foundations and medical equipment in service of
disease examination, detection, diagnosis, treatment and prevention. At the
same time, promoting propaganda so that people can access and use the proactive
screening services to help in detecting diseases timely for complete treatment,
and repel new sources of infection in the community./.
