The province's salt production reached 27,181.88 tons in the first 6 months

to statistics, by June 2022, salt production in the whole province is 27,181.88
tons, reaching 34% of the plan of 80,000 tons. In which, industrial salt:
26,871.15 tons; clean salt: 310.73 tons. The accumulated salt volume up to June
2022 is 32,966.13 tons, including: industrial salt: 31,892.56 tons, clean salt:
277.07 tons, dried salt: 661.40 tons, refined salt: 135.10 tons.
Particularly in June,
according to the assessment of the functional sectors, the weather situation is
not favorable for salt production. The processed salt output reaches 4,768.65
tons; in which, dried salt; 3,187.70 tons, refined salt: 1,580.95 tons. The
current price of clean salt is 1,200 VND/kg, industrial salt: 950 VND/kg, dried
salt: 1,600 VND/kg, refined salt: 1,320 VND/kg.
As planned for the
period of 2021 - 2025, the total area of salt production in the province is 895
hectares. Of which, Tuy Phong district: 785 ha, Ham Thuan Nam: 110 ha; average
output reaches 75,000 tons/year. For industrial scale salt production applied
science and technology, the salt production capacity is expected to increase by
at least 20%.
