Traffic accidents reduced in all 3 criteria in terms of number of cases, number of deaths and number of injured people

2021, the traffic accident situation in the province decreased in all 03
criteria in terms of number of cases, number of deaths and number of injuries.
According to the Traffic
Police – The Provincial Public Security, our province had 259 traffic
accidents, killing 154 people and injuring 158 people in 2021. Compared to the
same period last year, the number of traffic accidents decreased 98 cases (declined
27.5%), the number of deaths and injured people reduced 41 (declined 21%) and
95 (declined 37.5%), respectively. Of which, road traffic accidents were 258
cases, causing 154 deaths and 158 injuries; compared to the same period last
year, there was a decrease of 97 cases (27.3%), 40 deaths (decreased 20.7%), 95
injured people (decreased 37.5%), respectively. There was 01 railway traffic
accident, causing 01 death; decreased 01 case and 01 death compared to the same
period last year. The traffic accidents in the province occurred mainly on
National Highway 1A, with 109/258 cases in the whole province, killing 86
people, accounted for 56% of the total number of traffic accident deaths in
2021.
The locality with the
most traffic accidents last year is Ham Thuan Bac district with 43 cases,
causing 32 deaths and 31 injuries; Phan Thiet city with 40 cases, killing 18
people and injuring 39 others; Ham Thuan Nam district with 33 cases, killing 27
people and injuring 11 others; Tanh Linh district with 30 cases, killing 07
people and injuring 24 others; Bac Binh district with 28 cases, causing 23 deaths
and 07 injuries; Duc Linh district with 24 cases, causing 09 deaths, 18
injuries; Tuy Phong district with 24 cases, causing 15 deaths and 09 injuries;
Ham Tan district with 21 cases, killing 14 people, injuring 10 others; La Gi
town with 14 cases, causing 08 deaths and 08 injuries. In Phu Quy district,
there were 02 traffic accidents, causing 01 death and 01 injury.
