Tuy Phong: About 100m of the coast eroded due to strong waves and high tides

Tuy Phong District People's Committee has just reported the situation of
coastal erosion in the area of Phu Tan quarter, Phan Ri Cua town.
Accordingly, in
recent days, due to strong waves, winds, high tides, the coastline has been
eroded in the area of Phu Tan quarter, Phan Ri Cua town on May 20 and 21, 2023;
the length of the eroded shoreline is about 100m in front of people's houses
and running through the wall of Ngoc Mai Industrial Park.
At present, the
coast continues to be eroded stronger. Tuy Phong District People's Committee
has directed Military forces, District Public Security, Hoa Minh Border Guard
Station to support and help the People's Committee of Phan Ri Cua town to strengthen
and temporarily overcome the landslide. However, this is only a temporary
solution, it is forecasted that in the coming days, the situation of coastal
erosion in this area is likely to become stronger, making structures of
residential technical infrastructure works in the locality likely to be
damaged, seriously affecting people's life, activities and economy…
In order to protect
more than 600 households and the structure of residential technical
infrastructure works in the locality from damage, the Tuy Phong District
People's Committee has proposed the Provincial People's Committee to direct
relevant departments and agencies to soon solving problems and speeding up the
construction progress to complete the Coastal Protection Embankment Project in
Phu Tan Quarter, Phan Ri Cua Town.
